I have recently aquired a volume of works by Alphonse Daudet though, this is an author of whom I have not been aquianted with before. So I was wondering if anyone else here has read him, and what stories you would recomend?

I have read Tartarin de Tarascon (in French, so I don't know if it would be the same title in English). It's a funny tale, I enjoyed it very much. I have also read most of the stories from Lettres de mon moulin.

I enjoyed the three "Tartarin" stories ("de tarascon", "sur les alpes", "post tarascon") they are quite funny... and then "the nabob" is quite a good story... I've only read a couple stories from "lettres de mon moulin" but they were pretty good as well...
