Sleepy in the afternoon
Following the checkerboard nonsense
I found myself lost i na haze
Not from the sky, but from the earth
In a dream I had nothing to gain
For the sake of others I awoke
Finding nothing material
All was alight with fire
And it blazed a deep hole in my eyes
I walked in my sleep
Still dreaming but senses awake
A long corridor stretched out before me
The sun had gone to share my state
The moon died and found a shallow grave
There was no light but the flame of my faith
And it burned dimly, nearly exhausted
All was black and still
Voices were silent but poised in readiness
They wanted to attack me but could not
For I was not there
I was yet alive
This museum of hell I passed by
Leaving in my memory a painting
A fiercely descriptive one indeed
