I checked and didn't find any thread like this, so I'm going retro, because its something I was doing with a friend. What kids programs do you remember that you loved or even hated?

I'll start out with these three:

Bananaman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNknWT-agT0)
Dangermouse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BouKBkQAGA)
Count Duckula! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y40rDgZbdHw)

Do share! Older or more modern ones!

I would kill for DVDs of an old Hanna/Barbara series called Ruff and Reddy and the Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle cartoons. Then Looney Tunes (which are available.) I'm a 50s kids. Saw lots of Popeye and Woody Woodpecker which are now being released also. WHy QUick Draw McGraw and Huckleberry Hound aren't released is beyond me.

To name a few. But the Ruff and Reddys are the holy grail for me. That and a western known as Yancy Derringer.

I remember watching "Winnie the Pooh" everyday of my childhood days and then the "Adventures of Alice in Wonderland". Those two are the ones that I watch from the moment I wake up in the morning. I was wondering why I watch those movies when I was a kid, and I remember I didn't miss any of them except when I started going to school when I was six. *sighs* That was the good ol' days without having to do anything except for watching TV every morning and playing Super Nintendo games in the afternoon.

I remember watching Popeye a lot. And just about every show that you would see on the boomerang channel nowdays and both the Highlander and Hercules series. Also, starting from ~ 7 I watched Thundercats and DBZ quite a bit. For some reason, nobody I know remembers the same shows I do.

Ox Tails (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YU7X2OAIFEo) used to be on in the summer holidays on UTV. I expect the only airing it gets now is in the interrogation rooms of Guantanamo Bay!

But when I was six years old I also started to watch "Walk With Dinosaurs" (Not cartoon).

As for myself:

Mainly The Flintstones and Jetsons, because that was all we would get, except for some Disney cartoons around Christmas (we only had one single TV channel in Sweden back in those days).

This was the days before cable of course and in our tiny little town in the middle of nowhere, we only got CBS and NBC so our choices were severely limited but I remember watching a LOT of Bugs Bunny and Scooby Doo. I also remember the Smurfs, The Jetsons, The Flinstones, Spiderman (my brother was a huge fan) and Fat Albert.

From my children's childhood I remember Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Dexter(loved that one!), Pokemon(), Arthur and a few others that are escaping me at the moment. The only one I currently try to never miss is Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. I can't reallly claim I'm watching it 'with my kids' anymore but I don't care, it's absolutely brilliant. :p

All of the Hannah-Barberra cartoons, Merry Melodies, Snorks, Smurfs, Masters of the Universe, and of course, The Simpsons... I think I was five or six when that came out.

Oh, and I loved Rocky and Bullwinkle. A friend of mine married a girl from Russia, and the first time I met her I just had to ask her to say "moose and squirrel." She sounded just like Natasha

What does the Adventures of Nils say about it?

What does the Adventures of Nils say about it?

Well, the Adventure of Nils was a series of stories about a boy named Nils who gets into a lot of scrapes and travels with geese. He was kind of a naughty boy, mean to animals I think and gets shrunk some how, by a elf or tomte or something and hangs around with this flock of geese. Lagerloff wrote it as a primer of Swedish geography for school children so they are always flying around, travelling around Sweden. And of course, he learns valuable lessons and becomes a nicer boy in the process. I actually haven't read them myself but my Mom, who loves all things Swedish, loves the stories and she gave the books to my youngest son who also loved them.

From a diff. era than some of you: always liked Sylvester and Tweedie the most; Popeye, Woody Woodpecker, "That's all folks" cartoon (Daffy Duck/Elmer Fudd?), maybe Mighty Mouse. Yea, Tom and Jerry too.
