At last I found the thread just as I am about to log-off!
I was so pleased to find this website, I got here by looking for a website where I could share with others, and find out their views on Harriet Beecher Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin", I just finished reading it and was surprised at how much I laughed, though I expected to cry a bit, and I did.
Reading her descriptions of slavery help me understand why it has taken me more than 30 years to find just my grandfather's and grandmother's on both sides of my family. I fear I will have to leave the finding of the rest to another generation. I hope to be able to share many books with you all in future. Goodnight
