Please help me with essay topic!!!

For my final research paper I have to find some kind of criticism, book, or journal article on THE GREAT GATSBY.Then I have to respond to it by disagreeing or agreeing with the argument posed in my research.

I could think of my own subjects like: How are the women portrayed?, How is the American dream defined in the book?, etc.

Should I just write my research paper on how women are portrayed in the 1920's and connect it somehow with the women characters that are in the book?

Please help me find a good topic that I'll have a lot to write about.


Also what is the real relationship between Nick and Jordan.
Do they even like eachother?
What does Nick really want from her and what does she want from him?

Thanks for all your help but the article, journal, or book doesn't necessarily have to be about or on The Great Gatsby. I just have to find something that I can connect with the book.

Like finding an article about American values and comparing/contrasting it with the meaning of what American values are in The Great Gatsby. Something like this but I'm sure if this would be a good topic.

You can do the following although it's quite ambitious.

Should America had gone to war if the warning has already been in "The Great Gatsby"

Another one you could do is the significance of the green light.

or

Simply the American dream presented in The Great Gatsby.
