Betrayal
The icy sword through my spine
Poison willingly taken
Trust given spoiled
by words on a forked tongue
Wounded heart bleeds from the gash
Pain numbs the body
except for the flames in the eyes
Mind dulls from the blow
Yet the teeth sharpen
A piece missing, a hole within
Why? Now what?
Return the deed or forget forever?
Never again will I fall
Prevail and survive
regardless of the pain inside

ah dark and med evil fealing.
betrayed by someone once trusted, empties one of emotion, yet gives them strength.
as if to spite those who hurt you, you carry on.
your pain my never end, but that won`t stop you from completing whatever task lies ahead.
i don`t know why, but that`s the first thing that came into mind after reading this one.

Free
The rose of the valley blooms
but in the the morning rays of sun
It stands lonely and sad
I see the beautiful creation
yet I can't join her
no matter my reach
I fall short
bound by the chains
that hold me back
a tear craws down my cheek
then as night falls
the moon climbs
She sees my wounded heart
I hear her faint whisper
"Fear not the cuts shall heal"
my eyes never leave the rose's face
though they grow heavy
Someday I will break free
Free

Tears
The ice tears freeze on my checks
The blow has never been this cold
My weak heart leaks
The pain far worse than told
A piece gone and I stand
I call but recieved no reply
I can't stop the shaking of my hand
As I ponder, I just think: why?

Forever

Justice, disintegrated
Resistance, futile
Pain, present
Torture, expected
Suffering, continuous
Bondage, everlasting
Survival, alone
Life, irrelevant
Death, inevitable
I, isolated
Forever

it's hard to choose a favorite out of these, but I think i'm going to go with Forever. Betrayal isn't far behind. I like how it is written and how in a two words you get a almost perfect image and together tells a story. but like i said :) there all very well written. thank you

Alone
Whispering in the wind
yet no soul to speak or hear
a salty droplet crawls down my cheek,
but no. Can't. They must not see.
What to do? Wait as time slows?
My body is losing the war.
A war I never could have won.
Why did I try? I am helpless and lost.
I stumble on a fading path,
without a thought of where it leads.
Nor a care. Why care for the lost?
It can't return, and I can't go back.
So confused now, how do I go forward?
When will I draw the last breath?
What to breathe for now?
They are all gone and no more to come.
I sit abandoned and quiet.
It is clear the end is near.

This following poem is by my friend who doesn't post but I felt I should share it with you and I would like your feed back on it.

Anyone out there
Is there anyone out there?
Is there anyone who cares?
Can you hear me shouting?
Do you care what it's about?

I am sitting here, surrounded by people who listen,
but they don't have the power to do anything.
I am searching for one certain something.
Something that will put my heart to rest.
But i don't know. I can't seem to figure out what life is all about.

I sat and thought and at times I thought I knew.
I thought I had the world at my fingers.
I thought I had the earth in my hands.
I thought I had everything before me.
I thought I could walk on the sands.
I thought I had the secret to life.
I thought I knew the trick to being happy,
but everything i knew was a lie.
And everything crumbled down around me.

There is one person.
Someone different from the rest.
Who brings me life and joy, and for them i do my best.
What's there is so unique. Something beyond hope of explaning.
Something you have to feel to know.
Experience to understand.
And so i continue in my journey through life.
What will happen remains uncertain.
So i never make a plan.

btw ppl there is some editing i would like to do in the future w/ this poem. there is a bit i have to add in near the end. thanks for reading!

I thoroughly enjoyed all of these, and hope you continue to post. All of them have a lot of emotion shining through. The one i enjoyed the most was "Free". It feels as though it has a hidden element, something about it that sets it apart. It definitely has a brighter ending than the others, but it also seems to have a different emotion behind it. Not so much the pain and anguish behind the rest, but something more. Almost love, but unsure love... Can't wait to read more!

Almost love, but unsure love...

I am glad to see what it looks like through your eyes. I would just like to state what was going through my mind......I was rejected after I asked a girl out....therefore this poem is less of "unsure love" and more of "impossible love"....but I like your view on it and your opinion is important and I thank you for your comments.

I’m a little confused by one of the lines in the poem “free”. The line where she says “fear not the cuts shall heal”. I am wondering what you mean by cuts? Emotional wounds or physical injury? Just curious, I like how the poem paints an image but I’m having trouble imagining that one line.

In my case it is emotional. She rejected me, which was an emotional hurt. I do not cut myself in any way or form. It is more of the cuts on my heart that will need to heal. You could also take the view on it the cuts on the heart are from the thorns on the rose. The cuts are: another girl friend rejection, the feeling of wanting her but not having her, etc. I hope this makes it clearer if not please ask more questions for me to expand on. Thank you for reading and questioning.

Ok so I've finally finished reading all of your poetry and I enjoyed a lot of them. I would have to say that my favourite was 'Free'. This may sound strange, but I could sense the raw emotion that was inserted into the poem. Also...I had a little trouble understanding the first poem, I had to read it twice to fully understand what it was trying to say. Sorry, I cannot think of any way of fixing that but then again it might just be me.
Thanks for sharing your poetry.

Missing

A piece of me is gone
Is it my lost mind?
Is it my bleeding heart?
Is it my cold eyes?
No. They are all here
Yet I am not
So many questions
Answers are knowledge
Knowledge is power
Is that what I lack?
Broken, damaged
Struggle, resist
Instinct to survive
Live, continue
Can I survive if I am already dead?
Can you?

I really like the rhythm in Missing, and how it asks questions but attempts to answer them, and the atempts fail. Gives it an indescribable tone. Can't wait to read more!

Caught

Trapped inside thy clutches I rot ‘til death.
Pain flows as liquid fire throughout my blood.
The imprisonment torture is no myth,
Nor the feeling thou art lower than mud.
None shall find glee within thy strong walls.
Time stands alone, to complete the suffering,
Not long before death’s merciful voice calls.
Soul deep within myself starts crying.
A tear would show the weakness outside,
That would bring my downfall ever faster.
My captors drain what remains of self-pride,
In bondage driven by my cruel master.
Slithering poisonous snakes’ staring eyes.
Trapped inside thy tight clutches all dies.

My favorite's "Forever". . . it's really simple, but says alot.

But dang, your poetry is so intense and sad. Not that I was expecting sunshiney "the bunnies hopped in the meadows" kinda thing (but seriously, hopping bunnies can be sinister when they turn on you >.>), but it was darker than I expected. They all kinda remind me of rain. . . like how you feel on a rainy day, kinda thing.

Keep it up, friend. :) Poetry is liberating.

I saw this, and stopped to read it. I like all the poems, but my favorite is "Betrayal." That's the one that speaks to me.
