My reading of this seems a lttle different. it seems to me the woman of the article seems overly sensitive. Of course some can see the hijab in a prejudicced way. But none of the examples the woman gives seems to rise to prejudice for me: looks, glances, speaking in loud, slow English, inquiring whether the cold bothers her. These are just examples of people not knowing each other rather than discrimination. Perhaps that would lend itself to the claim of stereotyping, so i could agree with you there. But i would not push the theme to something beyond that. Just my opinion. :) Good luck.

Yes, very interesting. A lot of people forget about this side of the question. Of course this is just one side of the question and the hijab is not always used this way, but I was glad to read that.

the second thesis was perfect.
The article was thought-provoking, and indisputable. Very well written.

i'm for the second thesis too.

but i don't fully agree with what is written. if a woman wants to wear something a little provocative it's her own right aswell, i feel more feminine when i wear tight shirts and i do it mainly for my self and from my own will. obviously attractiveness alone will not get you a job, attractiveness is not fooling anybody, and most people like to feel attracive...so why not?
