Hey guys, I've been really struggling with an english essay we've been given and i was curious as to any pointers you might be able to give me.
Topic:
"Discuss how language has been used to influence attitudes and try to bring about change in the 60 Minutes segment AND one written text"
60 Minutes:

The 7:30 Report:

I've only written part of my introduction, haven't included the thesis yet because i'm really not sure what to have as my supporting paragraphs.
In todays society, language is one of the most common and most effective ways of communicating. Not only does it give us the ability to express feelings, motives, ideas and opinions, but it can also be subtly twisted into a form which manipulates the receiver’s response. Whether or not this is done through a written text, displayed on television or heard through a radio, persuasive language always holds the same intention of changing attitudes. Two examples of this are “A cruel trade” by 60 minutes, and “The 7:30 Report.
If anyone could give me some pointers as to where to start with my supporting paragraphs, it would be most appreciative =)
