I am currently reading pride and prejudice, but I am finding it hard to get through because of context differences. I am trying to figure out how the contrast between Mr Darcy and Elizabeth develop an idea within the text.

I know about their characters, basically, but I am finding it hard to come up with what IDEAS this contrast develop.

I was thinking that maybe the contrast in their characters, E.g, Elizabeth coming from a non-aristocratic family (she is Upper-Middle class) and how her ideals go against what Darcy knows and has been taught. So maybe their contrasting personalities explore the idea of difference in class.

if anybody has some other ideas, i would be greatful, as i have been through several drafts already.

You can gain a lot of insight in the backgound context at this website:
