the sky opens up, revealing golden hues against a gray silhouette
and as my gaze drifts across the endless clouds
for a second the sun shines through, a blinding wonder
and for a moment, one fleeting second of beauty
i thought i seen an angel, wings of mercury, glimmering splendor

the sky is closing now, rain starts it`s decent
droplets hit the window and i race them within my head
even though the sky does fall, my heart is lifted by these little wonders
these drops of water, finding the earth, as life finds love

as the sky ceases to fall the horizon becomes a haze
an arch of color along the plains, lights my way
as darkness takes the land in hold, caressing the moon
i see a star passing by, a memory once forgotten
it disappears, like so many moments before
but perhaps tomorrow i shall see it again
there is no way to know
for our memories come full circle
around our minds edge
see for today, what lies in tomorrow

the moon is pulled under my sight
only to see the sun rise again
hues of brightness amaze my senses
a crow flies by, a stain against the sheets of the sky
but it is this stain which holds more beauty than any horizon can offer
for life holds all things precious, all things wondrous, sought for, attained
beauty lies within all, as all is within beauty
the eye of the beholder sees only itself
for we are all beautiful in ourselfs

"droplets hit the window and i race them within my head"
Wow, Lucid, this is good. And by good, I mean fantastic. The imagery was out of this world. This is definitely my favorite of yours, next to Universe Within a Rose. Can I ask you something? When you finished writing this, did you feel happier, more optomistic, more peaceful? The reason I ask is because I notice when I write, I exchange energies with what I am writing. Kind of like I am creating a living thing and we are sharing eachothers vibes. I don't know if you feel the same. I'm kind of strange, after all. But yeah, this one was a nice change for you. Sometimes pressing yourself to do something you're not completely comfortable with at first pushes you to go above and beyond, to prove something to yourself. I'm not saying you should necesarily abandon your usual style completely. Just that you should try your best to hit every band in the spectrum of human experience. Happy, sad, optomistic, pessemistic, strange, mundane, etc. I would definitely like to see more like this from you, personally, but experiment. Don't be afraid to fail. Pay specially close attention to what you DON'T want to do, and try that. I dropped out of high school 7 years ago now, and theres only one thing I really remember learning. It's strange, the teacher was totally off topic. It was a biology class, and the teachers name was Mr. Abrhamson. Somehow the conversation took a strange turn, and I remember him saying something to the effect of "The best way to learn anything about yourself is to identify what you don't agree with, and ask yourself why". I've heard it quoted differently since then, but it really stuck with me. To get a touch off topic, I think that's where philosophy is misapplied. Alot of people look for the philosopher they mostly agree with, so they can give a name to their morals. I think philosophy should be approached in the opposite manner. For example, my favorite philosopher to read is Nietzche. Not because I agree with him, but because I disagree with so much he says. True, there are things he talks about, such as non-purist existentialism, but there are alot more things I disagree with, like his idea of Imposed Natural Selection, and the creation of the "superman". Alot of these kind of things he talks about remind me too much of Hitler. Anyways, sorry about the rant. So yeah, you really shined through on this one. I'm glad I had a chance to pass down some ideas for you to work with. Keep letting me know when you post! Oh, by the way, I responded to your comment on my last one (Thanatos-Carnal) and answered your question. Peace! -chris

actually, yea, i felt alot better after posting this one.
even during the process i could feel myself getting happier, word by word.
iv`e never really tried something like this, so i didn`t know what to expect, but in the end i`m happy with it, and i think i`ll do more of these kinds.
allways nice to have an uplifting experience i suppose.
so i guess i should really thank you for this, i may have found a fountain from which to draw joy and contentment (haha and iv`e been looking for that too)

I enjoyed your poem, in particular
even though the sky does fall, my heart is lifted by these little wonders
these drops of water, finding the earth, as life finds loveThat was beautifully put. :thumbs_up

Your closing stanza was very uplifting and well said. :)

very beautiful! Thanks for posting this, I enjoyed it a lot. I'm glad that you enjoyed writing it. :)

And sparr0w, I find that kind of thing when I write, too. If it is a happy thing I'm writing about, I get happier, if it's a sad or mad thing I'm writing about, it makes me grumpy. I once wrote a very confrontational scene for the story I was working on; where the characters had a big fight, and I gave myself a headache, and my jaw ached from clenching my teeth so hard. But that was a rather extreme example!
