The Line Went Dead (Posted for GildedWeb)
BRIIING!
Hello? Yeah? You?
I just called because you have always been—
sarcasm
one of my closest friends—
one that I could depend upon—
heavy sarcasm
in almost any situation—
one who was always there to listen—
deepening sarcasm
no matter what the hour or the trouble might be…
So—
Came a BANG and a THUD—
and the line went dead…

As you see by the date, this was some time ago, and yeah, I was really feeling the poem badly…

I don't get the context -- a little "inside baseball" perhaps.
However, I do admire the urgent voice in this.

However, I do admire the urgent voice in this.Content? Basically, the narrator calls a person and forces them to listen to his suicide, while sarcastically telling them what a good friend they have not been—but could and should have been…then maybe this wouldn't have happened...

Woah, I wish I had come across this sooner... Personally, I think the image comes across quite clear, and can't imagine not getting the "content"... Honestly this made my stomach drop. I think I'm going to start going back to your earlier stuff I haven't read yet. BTW, I'm still trying to figure out "Not What It Seems"... It IS a riddle, right? It's bugging the hell out of me, what the "grim humor" is. I'll get it eventually. Oh, and I sent you the tabs you asked for.

Also, Pen, if you don't mind my asking, was this based on something that happened to you?

I went trough this time of attempted suicide, wanting to do this to someone, etc, yes. Never think yourself so high a person that you won't fall to the gutter, the person you mock today may be the person you become tomorrow. It has made me see the truth of "that which does not destroy me makes me stronger." To mould a stronger believer, make him doubt everything.
