My love has decayed to a boneless mass
A nothingess that is beyond pity or repair
Will I live to wear another mask?
And play the game of relentless stairs
Climbing each day a new flight ahead
Straining each muscle before it bursts wide
Wishing upon wishes that relieve only dead
Yet ever increasing the meaningless stride
Why is this life so lonely without love?
The question echoes all through my heart
An answer is sent from high above
In my own lacking I draw further apart
How wretched this life is without another
To hold and embrace in my arms
Not a best friend, aquaintance or lover
Just one to share in the world's charm
Each day I grow colder inside to out
My eyes fill with blood and tears
Yet I will constantly wander about
Holding in all that I fear
The weight of the loveless faultering life
Is too much for me to bear
A constant reminder of memory and strife
I only wish for another to care
