what's your favorite pair? do you wear uncomfy ones if they look good? do you even care about shoes?
i just got my first pair of steel-toes and they're "simply loverly"! pretty, soft brown, and totally *****in'! :)
am curious, and have been wondering for a week or so.
do you think shoes say anything about a person? i think they do and yet they don't. like if someone would love to be dressy etc. but would rather cherish their feet and put on something kind instead, that says nothing; but on the other hand, you can make quite the statement with them so -
tell us!
I know, I know!!! Az got a steel-toe shoes to be able to kick the mean cars... or their drivers, preferably BOTH ;) :D :p
I own a mere 3 pairs of shoes; in order of which I wear most often: black Dr. Martens, black Converse One Stars (not All Stars), and a black pair of formal dress shoes.
To answer your question, amuse, I feel that what a person wears voluntarily, including shoes, and with permitting finances, can reflect his/her self (as vague as that sounds). I tend to maintain a fairly clean-cut appearance, which may indicate that, though I usually fear no one's judgment of my looks, I enjoy looking decent to carry out its own results without my desperate attempt.

I wear flip-flops from March to October.
Mono, my uncle used to get made fun of, because the only shoes he ever wore were Chuck T's. He had a plethora of colors for various occasions. He got made fun of all through the 80s and early 90s for wearing these shoes that everyone felt were out of style. He loved them, because he wore them growing up and just thought they were a comfortable sneaker.
Then the mid 90s came along, the grunge tip started to evolve and all of a sudden, my uncle was cool again.
Man, is that devotion.

I bought shoes made of rubber because I thought they were so ugly. The sole is blue and all around are pink flowers, when I saw them I thought, what kind of an idiot would wear this, I decided to be that idiot.

I’ve got more shoes than Amelda (sp?) – well maybe not.
I’ve got hiking shoes, biking shoes, running shoes, walking shoes, shiny shoes, stinky shoes, shower shoes.
I’ve got leather shoes, canvas shoes, plastic shoes, woolen shoes, pool shoes, and some of those socks with little piece of shoe leather sewn on the bottom.
I’ve got work shoes, school shoes, vacation shoes, and kickin’ around the neighborhood shoes.
I’ve got fast shoes, slow shoes, high shoes, low shoes, pretty shoes, ugly shoes, comfy shoes, pointy shoes.
Everybody now… lalalala.
Hey, I think that I just wandered into a Dr. Suess thread.

I have a pair of sandles and a pair of shoes... I am sure they have a name but it is alluding me right now. lol Anyways, I have others, but I never wear them... Just the sandles in the summer and the shoes the rest of the time. I am thinking about getting some winter shoes, but that suede style is in and although they aren't bad, I will only wear them if they come in blue. Which they do... but I can't find any! :flare:

Just realised that I don't have a favourite pair at the moment... much to my own chagrin!
I should go shopping.

shoes ? shoes ? did someone mention shoes.
I love shopping for shoes. Hell, I love shopping in general!
I mainly wear flats, sneakers or my cowboy boots that I bought in Texas years ago.
I have a lot of dressy shoes that I end up only wearing once. At the time I buy them they feel real comfortable, then I wear them and my feet end up killing me.

I own a variety of shoes. Lots of fancy heels, flip-flops, converse.
I don't really wear them tho :p
In my house and family's, I go barefoot all summer AND winter.
I is a hippie!

I hate wearing shoes. If I had my way, I would never wear any and go everywhere barefoot.
Yet alas, I guess that's not exactly socially acceptable, and they would send me home from my work. Which may not be all bad...:p
So since I have to wear them, I like shoes that are very unusual and not like what everyone else wears. I have very few pairs of heels, mostly for dressy occasions. I like flats better, and all but maybe two of the pairs I own are closed-toed.

I've got school shoes... Many pairs of like sandals and thongs (Australian thongs, people... Not underwear thongs! I believe they are called flip-flops elsewhere?) which I needed for physio just to slip on and off and now don't wear often. Also then I just have various shoes... And one or two pairs of high heels that only get used for rare events like last years formal, and when I need them for a drama costume.

Shoes reflect the person you are and the type you choose determine the man you are.

Wow really? How so? Like can you give some examples of what shoes determine what type of person you are?

The first and third ones are very cute. I like the second ones in orange as well. Why are you rethinking the third? They seem perfect for the upcoming summery months. :)

I Love Shoes!!!
But my toes are so weird looking I never wear strappy sandals or shoes that show most of the foot. Especially all my toes. They're something out of Ripley's Believe it or Not.

As long as they're neat and clean I wouldn't worry about it. I used to think my feet were ugly then I started to look at other peoples feet   Holy Carp are people walking around with some nasty feet. (I still think my feet are ugly now I just don't mind people seeing them)

These past few years, I've almost only used Converse All Star shoes. But this year for my birthday, my sister bought me a pair of ballerina shoes, not sure they're called that in English though. Not a very good picture, but at least you can see the big difference in the shoes. :)

Good call on reviving this thread. I mean, I never knew it existed, but I'm happy to have it.
Mmm, shoes are my favorite thing to buy. :) Right now my favorite pair of shoes are these Diesel sneaker/flat things that are grey and white that have little bows in the front. They are very cute and they were super cheap for Diesel. Yay.
I love trendy sneakers. I don't have any at the moment, really. The Diesel shoes aren't quite actual sneakers. I had a pair from Michelle K for a while that I loved, and a pair from Diesel a while back (on sale as well).
I also have a pair of "jack purcell" converse sneakers. but they have not become comfortable to me - and I've had them for a good while now. my feet seem to be not made for converse. or maybe it's the jack purcell part that makes them different. what am I missing? everyone loves converse, but they aren't working out for me.

I have a confession...I'm a shoe addict.
I mean, I'm not like my mom, who has 400 pairs of heels and boots in her closet...
No, rather, I hoard sneakers. Basketball sneakers (Reebok and Nike) or skater shoes (DVS, Anarchy, Vans) mostly. I like my sneakers spotless so that I can wear them when I go out dancing or to dinner. If I could wear sneakers while teaching, I would. I think I'll be able to pull it off if I'm good enough ;)
What's funny is, in order to keep the sneakers clean, I wear flip-flops most of the time. I don't care what the flip-flops look like; I'll wear them til they fall apart. At work I just wear Payless pumps...something cheap to last the semester...again, don't care.
But my sneaks, ahhh...a nice pair of skater shoes just completes my dancing outfit :D
