Good afternoon, this is a poem I just wrote after meeting somebody very special. It's not about that person, but I was inspired by her to write a poem. I hope you enjoy.
The Pearl
The ocean rolls over the face
Of a shell, like a softly caressing
Lullaby, singing its
Peaceful song of tender love.
Inside, as if in retaliation,
A pearl is born out of the
Seed of a single grain of sand
From a beach of possibilities.
It grows in its majestic home
Of Venus, goddess of love,
To take its place among the
Uniquely beautiful creatures of the world.
It screams out in agony
As a hand plucks it from
Its bliss. This individual pearl,
Destined to a life around a neck.
