What did you say!!?

Sacriliege you say!!!?

A heretic?

No seriously...have you ever become bored of books?
That you would rather burn them just for the fun of it or just sit on them and stare at the beautiful Garden outside? :D

Yes!!!

Or pass all your books on to others, maybe drop them all off at the used book store... and then just go surfing, or rock climbing, and ignore all the raucous thoughts reverberating through my head... go live on some desolate and secluded beach, and swim in the bioluminescent ocean every night... there is so much beauty in the world that sometimes I wonder why I like to bury my head in books... but I guess they are part of that beauty... I think the trick is to find the balance, instead of swinging from one extreme branch on one extreme tree, to the next extreme branch, on another extreme tree... That is what I seem to do... read excessively and be in love with it for a few mths and then never want to see a book again for the next few mths, to the point of giving books away (which really is quite annoying when you want to read that book again... *smile*)....

So, what to do?

He he :D I like the picture too :D

Islandclimber - you know exactly what I am on about! I think I am like you: have intense session of reading and then will not read again for a while.

Yes. The balance - you need balance.

but that's the problem... balance is no fun at all... for then you're kind of dampening your enthusiasm of the moment.. so I think there is no hope for us...:bawling: just go on from tree to the other, back and forth, in a vicious neverending cycle.. we're doomed!!! :bawling:

but it could be fun!!!!!

I live in contradictions, I'm book a bibliophile and a pyromaniac :D but I'd rather not live without my books, even if i do think about how beautiful my library would look afire.

bibliophile pyromaniac... so what you're saying is that it was you, in one of your past lives that burnt down the library at Alexandria!!!! that must have been beautiful! maybe we should just stick to setting ourselves on fire.. you know, kind of like a--- save a book, light yourself! kind of slogan.. we could march around with little signs, protesting book burning...

even though I am actually a little bored of books right now... I think that just might be why I've been on here way more than is safe the past couple days... what about writing Lote? do you ever just want to burn everything you've ever written, or at least never pick up a pen again?

I am currently book quenched. My shelves are crying at me, so no, I am not bored of books (at the moment)....my lifestyle is starving me of them. Guess it is time to change the lifestyle then :D but I do know what you mean Lote. Sometimes I get tired of seeing my books everywhere and need to just leave them be and go out and do something.

 I have that problem too.. maybe I should stop pouring gasoline on myself all day... it makes it really hard to use a lighter or matches... you kind of have to hold them far away..... but oh well...

*chants with immense tears in his eyes*

save a book, burn yourself, save a book, burn yourself...

well, now, maybe we should rethink this whole idea?

Yes. Islandclimber. I have a trashing session where I clear out the garbage but more garbage remains though :-( I deliberately keep certain garbage because it has memories attached :D

As for using a pen. I have not used a pen for ages about 10 years!! except to fill forms in and sign occaisnal cheque. I am a computer programmer so no need to use a pen at all - which is a good thing because my writing is terrible :-( and I don't use paper to draw anymore I use photoshop:D

Sometimes I prefer not to read, to spend a day or two (and even longer) without a good book, but more as a break to let thoughts settle down; not because I'm bored of them. How could a true bibliophile ever be bored of books?

Simple - just by looking at the Rainbow...

Simple - just by looking at the Rainbow...

yes, that is exactly it... a rainbow, a sunset, bioluminescent waves at night... the way the moon sighs the world is so beautiful that sometimes it's just too much to be always buried in a book...

doesn't mean you don't love books, just means there are other worthwhile things in this world... and when you live a life in extremes, well, you go from one to the next! you get bored of things at different times...:D

Yes. You need to Experience Life first.
