A rather random bunch of lines that popped into my head a few days ago! :yawnb:

I am in a cave
That is my room
The tall rock walls lean over me
Ominously
But they are safe.

Drops of moss
Cover the gaping entrance
Casting soft, delicate hues
Of green and gold
Onto the craggy rock face.

The stone is smothered in black ivy
Curling and twisting
Making patterns around
The raw crevaces
Like fingers.

Deep beds of leaves
Conceal the sandy floor
Deadening sound
To only a muffle
No one can hear me pace.

True- from the outside my cave looks dull
Cold, barren, neglected
No one ever visits
Or else they would know
That my cave is rich and comfortable.

I stay in my cave, that is my room
So that I can be safe
In a place where no one comes
A place of hiding
My quiet cave.

I like the quiet, steady development in this and much of the imagery.

I loved the way that you speak about your little place that you go to get away from the harried outside world. We all should have a haven like that. I enjoyed your poem for taking me to this haven. :)
