The question that man is happier or unhappier in this civilization compared with his ancestors in prehistoric days is something that churns our minds and we become unsure whether they were living in order and we are.
In a flash let us visit a primitive living style, living conditions previous to this civilizational raid. Man lives in a jungle, in a crevice. Naked. Stark Naked. In a familial bond. This was a hunting age in which man had to hunt for food materials.
Insticnts were strong, and impulses were at work. For man had to have run, run over the rest. Darwin's maxim that man had to struggle for existince and survival of the fittest is a fitting example then more than ever. If you are pushed behind the tribe you get lost and survival is remote. In a minute hordes of other wildlives siege or encircle you. You get taken as dead by uour kinfolks.
Fear looms large everywhere. Every step forward is rent with threats. Fear is everywhere, and it never leaves you. Compare how we live in fear now and how they lived in fear then. Theirs is fear of attack. The only challenge they have is survival. If they can win over their enemies and can survive they will live without cares.
Impulses and insticts were very intense. Love and compassion are infact impulses. Theese impulses were very stronger then comapred with what we have now.
Now in this civilization man is a complex creature. His life is uncertain, and h e is frightened of the known in the same intensity and degree, may be in higher degrees than his prehistoric ancestors.
Where is he secure? Take an example of a boy born into a modern family. When he starts to understand human speech his cerebrum gets stuffed with more threats, cries, fears. Constant contests between his parents,their sharp words directed at each other, divorces, or if together perpetyual wrestles. Infidelity. Mistrust. Alenialtion. Where is harmony. This marriage is simply a game, a temporary game. Where is there a perfect conjugal relationship as we generally idealize it. We idealize it for we have read about them in books, for they are showed in movies by stars.
This whole drama of relationship is what we call living artificially and unnaturally under a veil of civilization.
Man has to die. Death is always there in wait round the corner. There are too many uncertainitins. any time disaster or misfortune can befall on man.
Yet man fights for space. Man keeps on amassing wealth, and this continues till his death. Yet the mass of wealth he has accumulated can not be consumed. His progenies inherit them, and they also engage themsleves in the same rat race.
This write up is not to mislead you, nor to confuse you. This is to awaken you to the other side of life, to the more bleaker side of life.
Then wherein can we have refuge? In spiritualism ? No way.
Spiritualism is a tool used by some clever people. The history of the world is stuffed with too many examples wherein there were the innocent were stripped of all they have by the shrewd in the name of religion and spiritualism.
There is nothing to say conclusively in this forum. Yet what i think is we should not be swayed by any ideology, philosophy or any idea woven by others. Everybody is perpect despite the fact that he is educated or uneducated, civilized or barbarain. Let us not run after Gurus, philosophies or idelogies. Live the way you want but by never keeping the life of the other at stake. That is what i beleive in.
This idea is out of a new dimensional thinking process. Please be kind enough to share what you think.
