I love The Bob Newhart show! I was going to list it as one of my favorites!:p
the show about Earl - what's the name of that?
"My Name is Earl". Another one that I was going to name. :)
Anyway, current shows:
The Office
Pushing Daisies (I wish they'd come back - I need a new episode to watch!)
My Name is Earl
Scrubs (though I wasn't into the whole baby thing involving J.D.)
Family Guy
Past shows:
The Bob Newhart Show (though the show "Newhart" was OK, too)
All in the Family (only until Mike and Gloria left)
Happy Days (only until Chachi came on)
MASH (only up until Winchester came on)
Frasier
The Flintstones
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Night Court
Will and Grace
The Dick Van Dyke Show
Dobie Gillis
The Monkees
Becker (I stopped watching after they got that blonde actress  - I can't remember her name)
What's Happening
TAXI
Three's Company
Seinfeld
The Donna Reed Show
The Muppet Show
Welcome Back Kotter (only until John Travolta left)
Barney Miller
WKRP
Gimme a Break
A few from overseas :D :
BlackAdder
Monty Python
Keeping Up Appearances
Coupling
My Family
One Foot in the Grave
Goodnight, Sweetheart
Father Ted (one of the all-time greatest shows!)
Yes, I have watched a lot of TV in my lifetime!! :D I am one of those TV theme song fans, too (yes, I own the LP's of them!). Just don't get me started on listing favorite dramas! :p

You know what? I knew there was something else that I'd forgotten! I loved that show!!! :D I think it wasn't really appreciated when it was on TV.
I know there are more to name, but my mind isn't functioning properly tonight to remember all of them! :)
But I think I have named enough for one night!:p

I heard a horrid rumour that they were going to make an american version of Father Ted. How! Why!!!! It just wouldnt be the same!!!!
When did you hear that?? I never heard anything about it! Oh, I don't know if it would work at all! Just look at who the original people are! Could you ever come up with another Mrs. Doyle? Not only that, I don't think anyone else in the world could write a song as beautiful as "My Lovely Horse"! :p
I personally don't understand why everyone always has to copy everyone else's TV programs. The only time that I think they succeeded with it was when the US "The Office" was created. I love it and I actually like it much better than the original. But the US version of "Coupling" was bad! Besides, we already had "Friends" at the same time. I had no idea why they even attempted that! Oh! "All In the Family" is based on another program, too, but I can't remember the original name of it.
I love goodnight Sweetheart. Havent seen that in years!
They showed the entire series here last year and that was it. As soon as it was done they took it off. I watched the first episode, and I thought it seemed a little different and before I knew it I was addicted! :)
And how did i forget Blackadder!
Shame on you!
but then again the only one i mentioned was Some mothers, and thats because its my fav
Is this the show with Michael Crawford?
I actually don't mind "As Time Goes By" either. I just love the character of Lionel. Alistair is OK, too, but Lionel is great with his sarcasm! :D

Frasier
+1
Also, it isn't really a 'comedy show', strictly speaking, but "House" is quite funny and is really the only thing I'm watching currently.
I remember liking 'Whose Line is it Anyway', but that's been gone for some time, I think.

Ah dear Gilligan, but it was the best. To think that Gilligan , well the actor, was actually a lawyer first.

Faulty Towers
I also loved the Seinfeld series, the characters were so fleshed out.
