Makeover
The mirror has begun to show another man, one I thought was gone forever—
I thought myself a prisoner of the weight that I would never loose.
And it’s really kind of funny, there’s not that much changing at all in my endeavors.
I’m not out here jogging around the block until my face get’s red like a fever—
I don’t have a set of weights that I can get out of mothballs and begin to use.
The mirror has begun to show another man, one I thought was gone forever—
I still drink my diet-soda (0 calories, you know!), eat bananas and fruit, may seem clever—
Then I have a normal supper and skip the snacks unless they are fat free and few.
And it’s really kind of funny, there’s not that much changing at all in my endeavors.
I exercise with elastic bands and they burn more energy than I’d have thought ever—
can see the difference in muscle just from stretching the bands the way I do!
The mirror has begun to show another man, one I thought was gone forever—
I climb up on the scales, who will be the all-wise, all-knowing true fortune-teller—
And when it tells me I have lost and kept off thirty-five pounds I want to yell “Whoo!”
And it’s really kind of funny, there’s not that much changing at all in my endeavors.
Looking straight in to the mirror, I find it hard to believe I am this smaller feller!
Thirty-Five pound's lighter and my goal is to loose enough to maintain a healthy rule.
The mirror has begun to show another man, one I thought was gone forever—
And it’s really kind of funny, there’s not that much changing at all in my endeavors.
