What Has Happened?

I sit in my room,
Staring at my bed,
My hands feel cold,
As thoughts fill my head.

I cannot fathom,
I cannot see,
What has happened,
To the world around me?

I'm lost,
I'm stuck in dismay,
Who's lives have I destroyed?
How many have I saved?

I cannot fathom,
I cannot see,
What has happened,
To the world around me?

Did I cause this chaos?
Did I ruin your life?
When I thought I had saved you,
It turns out you're more lost than I...

I cannot fathom,
I cannot see,
What has happened...
To the world around me?

Have I been the one?
Did I cause this pain?
Did I make you cry?
Did I send you into dismay?

What has happened,
To the world around me?

Your words,
They hit home.
Your tears pour down,
Destroying what I thought true.

To love,
That was us.
Yet now you hate,
Leaving me empty in silence.

To be,
We were together.
Our words were lies,
Now you say you hate.
Nothing but tears in your eyes.

To destroy,
We were one.
Now we are not,
Now you say you destroy.
Leaving me with nothing at all...

Tears smothering you,
Your voice cracked and torn,
You whisper into the speaker.
I thought...

What did I do?
Why do you cry?
Where did I go wrong?
I thought...

What is going on?
Did I do this?
How can I not see?
I thought...

I thought I made you...
Laugh.
Smile.
Live.

Dark poetry. But good, and well written. You remind me of me. I have reams of dark poetry written until I finial wrote Echoes From the Edge, many of which you could dig up on her and the Sonnets from the Edge. They had to be written, dark and sometimes scarey... Give yourself to your emotions as long as you can control your actions... :P
