whistling away the songs of today
filling up an empty heart
with promises of a new day
something never that may never start

the rhythm inside your little mind
slow and dancing with hints of despair
but this sorrow brings a joy of kind
and these words are twirling throughout the air

the clouds float freely into an endless blue
but these words fade from our world so fast
become useless in time, a rusted screw
lost in time an ocean vast...

a rushed poem i guess
just wanted to post something

you know, it seems sometimes the rushed poems are the best ones, the ones you write in minutes without thinking about it. this seems to be one of those cases. i like this one quite a bit, lucid.

the clouds float freely into an endless blue
but these words fade from our world so fast
become useless in time, a rusted screw
lost in time an ocean vast...

I think thats the best reason to write though. People come and go every day, by the thousands, each with experiences worth writing books about, profound thoughts (usually the passing ones), and each having an effect on the lives of everone they've met. The ones we remember are the ones who leave words, pictures, paintings... our art is our legacy, and legacy is the closest thing a human will ever come to immortality. Keep posting those "rushed" poems, Lucid. Theyre the most honest. :thumbs_up

this will shape my writing into something more honest and truthful.
strange how much someones opinions can help others.
