I’m the poet for whom
The next lines never come on their own
My poems walk with as much uncertainty
As in a child taking the first steps—
Always afraid the next move
Won’t support its torso.

Ah, you speak for us all symphony. Lovely short poem, compact but perfectly formed.

Loved it, loved the comparison between a child learning to walk and a poem. :)

I agree with all the foregoing. There is something fine and admirable in the way this says what it has to say, then sits down to listen to the rest of the class.

One step at a time builds all things, poems included, Sy. If we dashed them off they would lose their value... http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l108/AbsalomKane/Fortune_teller.gif

Thanks y'all.

And Pen, thats why i tend to write one after a long gap usually. Doesnt work out all the time though, since some of them still lose their value. :p
