Is it true that it is used as an economic giude in asia, just something I heard, I don't mean to be offensive.

That's half true. It's not only in Asia, but it's a series of books (actually, it's more or less the same one published too many times) edited in a lot of countries. I'm sure it's there where you live. It defines itself as The Art of War for Businessmen or something like that. It's basically self-help crap orientated to business, nothing else, it has little or no similarities with the original.

I haven't heard of that, it is kind of useless I take it? Like buisness for dummies?

We used Sun Tzu's art of war as one of our reading material for Strategic Studies class. This book can be said to be the oldest military treatise in the world, compelling lots of aspects such as the use of spies, energy, maneuvering, etc. Here's an excerpt:

Sun Tzu said: The art of war recognizes nine varieties of ground:
(1) Dispersive ground;
(2) facile ground;
(3) contentious ground;
(4) open ground;
(5) ground of intersecting highways;
(6) serious ground;
(7) difficult ground;
(8) hemmed-in ground;
(9) desperate ground.

Sun Tzu, Carl Von Clausewitz, Machiavelli, Jomini et al, are all still required reading at Westpoint and Sandhurst. And I've read their stuff, but I'd much rather read about love than war.

Hey, I'm a lover, not a fighter.
