This post is somehow very late...But just consider this new.

I couldn't wait for 2008 t0 come and now it's twenty two days old, but there are still 344 days to look forward to in this leap year. I don't imagine it to be easier than 2007, but I sure hope it can be greater.
Who wants to go through constant challenges, but often, we have no choice in the matter. Problems come and go. Obstacles hurl themselves on your path. THings do go wrong, no matter what you do to keep them right, at the end of the day, you've left with no other options but to plod on because what else is there to do? You can't just pull the plug on life, unless you have no problems with suicide.(LOL) But the cliches help, one of which is the ever popular "See the glass as half full". So here are a few questions you can answer for yourself!..Keep in mind that a glass half full is also in every way half empty...
......
1. Is it better to have people leave you alone, not minding what you do, than to have them demands so much of you?
2.Do you prefer an ugly truth or a beautiful lie?
3.Is your fear of death, which consumes your life, worse than dying, which ends it?
4.Why worry about something you can't do anything about?
5. Life is short and every minute counts, so how do you choose to spend it?

I love that font!
If I steal it, I hope you will not mind. :)

Anyway cheers on a very wonderful new thread, eyemaker! And I also wanted to say-- this is completely unrelated-- I just noticed something very---adjectives fail, but depth, beautiful-- about the pic in your sig!

Anyhow, here goes: :) :)

1. Is it better to have people leave you alone, not minding what you do, than to have them demands so much of you?

In the beginning of every person's life, they are an infant. My parents were divorced but I grew up in the country, and saw my father as a peaceful man, my father who had a long hair and a beard. The sunsets were so beautiful across the street and over the evergreen trees in the field where the cows grazed. My brother and I were able to explore and have fun. I am realizing now that I have a very beautiful, and unique experience and memory of our house (a simple one, as we were very poor), the porch, sided by two evergreens, and the sunsets now, I believe, are very special to me. Bliss, and peace-- being left alone. In my future, now-- these last two nights have been very special for me, I've been transported and I feel very much in the presence of beauty and love-- I intend to pursue this, as well as nothing more than a mildly good life, yet one that EVERY day I am able to extrapolate something very wonderful out of, that I am in a good frame of mind in which I learn and GROW, and actually make progress. For me, the answer is to be alone, and have others let me be. I would prefer a lot of time to myself.

2.Do you prefer an ugly truth or a beautiful lie?

Ugly truths are not true. They are probably perpetuated by someone who simply has a personalized and strange desire, which is connected to this desire being immediately gratified, of showing me such an ugly truth. An ugly truth would be something like "No one loves you," or "You are ugly," which are false, and which come out of very false premises. Lies are ugly and the truth is beautiful. Yet there are not even really lies. Everything anyone has ever said is true.

3.Is your fear of death, which consumes your life, worse than dying, which ends it?

Yes my fear of death is worse than death. The threat is deadlier than the execution. Yet I have no more fear of death than desire of death, and I do not desire death. I desire correct and undelusioned thinking, which I possess. In visions I have seen that we do not die when we die. This life is a sort of a dream, which exists below or above or beside a true reality, in which our soul resides, and our soul is unaffected by what happens temporally. In fact our body is made of matter, which is not actually identifiable as ourselves, and the matter is not created or destroyed, or, in its smallest parts, affected. The shape and the form which constitute the health of the body change, but the body is, again, not identifiable with ourselves, which exist as a soul. I do not fear death, because life and death are illusion; a more accurate term would be manifest or unmanifest...yet I see that neither is existence or nonexistence, they are simply different forms.

4.Why worry about something you can't do anything about?

Habit. I hopefully, accept things better than most, and will accept what I cannot change. I'm learning about this, it is fundamental to Tao, Tai Chi, and I'm reading the Book of Change, or I Ching, which is amazing knowledge of the nature of the Law of Change which all things, great and small, are governed by.

5. Life is short and every minute counts, so how do you choose to spend it?

Studying chess. Helping people. Finding love. Learning and not being self-deluded. Praying and loving God. Transcending and growing and becoming spiritual, becoming myself. Being humble, being mild, being good. Enjoying life unlimitedly. Enjoying the cascade of enlightenment. Perhaps, if I could, writing. Being postivie in the face of adversity. Retreating where it is called for. Being inactive if it will avoid a catastrophe. All I want are these things, and a way to live my life peacefully.

1. Is it better to have people leave you alone, not minding what you do, than to have them demands so much of you?

As a young person I lived free yet really bound by my overprotective mother. But it was different, since I did not live in this country and there really wasn't any fear of me being kidnapped or anything. But I have always prefered to be needed. To help others. To change the world, even if it's one bit at a time. I'd rather have people need my help, my cousel and advice that be alone, by myself and with myself only.

2.Do you prefer an ugly truth or a beautiful lie?

The truth is always beautiful, no matter what it is. For it's filled with a clean, crisps light that may burn but always helps us on our growth. Lies are never beautiful. I prefer reality.

3.Is your fear of death, which consumes your life, worse than dying, which ends it?

I do not fear death. Nay, I have yearnt for it most of my life. But not really. Would you fear sleep? Fear rest and goddess knows what comes after? Death and life are beautiful, for they're both all too human and all too cruel.

4.Why worry about something you can't do anything about?

There's nothing you can't do anything about if you work at it, you'll always change it, even a tiny bit, cause you at lest tried and who knows, your efforts might set something in motion. Worrying is a human thing, and change is always needed.

5. Life is short and every minute counts, so how do you choose to spend it?

I choose to spend my life helping others, giving kindness and love to this world who needs it so. My happiness comes from giving, and my love is endless to give, I only ask that you in turn help and love others in turn and do as much kindnesses as you can during your lifetime.

volunteer work, helping the homeless, activism and such. And as simple things, listening to music, which makes me happy also. Playing chess (even though I'm no good, Haven't had much practice,) and studying it also. Writing, cooking, feeding people, being surrounded by warm and bustling activity.

Just enjoying life and loving the world.

(I sound like an idiot, I'm sorry)

1. Is it better to have people leave you alone, not minding what you do, than to have them demands so much of you? It depends on what I need at the moment. Timing is everything. When I need encouragement, overlook my faults and focus on what I did right, please. And when I have the strength to be challenged, please do so.

2.Do you prefer an ugly truth or a beautiful lie? Again, timing is everything.

3.Is your fear of death, which consumes your life, worse than dying, which ends it? No - I can't wait to die. I just hope that I can die in a dignified manner.

4.Why worry about something you can't do anything about? Because you hope maybe someone else can fix it for you, or for the person you're worrying about. Worries lead to prayers and if you have faith, you believe your prayers mean something.

5. Life is short and every minute counts, so how do you choose to spend it? Doing the things I need to do, and then the things I like to do.
