$#@^%^

I had to reformat my MP3 player and lost everything on it. I take back every good thing I said about it.......

Ok I take that back too, I still love my beautiful little music player.

I haveto repopulate my player and it's the perfect oppotunity for new stuff.

Soooooooooooooooooo........Any music suggestions?

I think I'veasked this about 50 times already, I like happy, upbeat, sing a long to, hard rocky, show tuney, some country, oldies, ska-y.

fall out boy? Well, just a suggestion. It's alternative rock music, after all. They're my fave band, and they've got really meaningful songs :)

If you want something emo, try MCR, or The All American Rejects.

Green Day, Linkin Park and Simple Plan are also really cool ones.

I love Train in Vain, Annie Lennox does a pretty good rendition.

I'm downloading Lily Allen as we speak.

Ok, where's the rest of you.....Idril?

I'm not so much into emo, all that screaming. I'll download fall out boy though and Simple Plan (I already dig Linkin Park and Green Day)

I love the song Alfie, it makes me laugh. It's really the only song I've heard in it's entirety but it was good.

Are you ready? ;)

A few newer discoveries, or at least new to me are Lazlo Bane, they did the theme song for Scrubs; Caution Cat, who are in a simliar vein to Lazlo Bane; Gram Rabbit which is different, a little edgy but fabulous, a little in the vein of angry chick rock...sort of, kind of... If you're into something heavier there's Hermano, I discovered them on Pandora through my Queens of the Stone Age station and there is a definite likeness in type and then there's Soul Coughing, they're a 90's alternative band that has just been brought to my attention and worth a listen. Go with the album Irresistible Bliss, the other one kind of sucks.

And speaking of music that is kind of country and is great to sing along to, have you ever heard of Lone Justice? They are a band from the 80's when that country/folk/rock sound was so popular. They have a definite twang to them and the lead singer, Maria McKee can really wail. Those songs are a blast to sing to, so overwraught and full tilt. You don't even have to have a good voice to do it. ;)

Oh! And another hard rock suggestion is Chris Cornell's first solo album Euphoria Morning. It was recorded right after Soundgarden and it was before he was somehow neutered with Audioslave. The songs are all quite different from each other, some slow, some creepy, some balls-out, some bluesy, just a great album.

I've downloaded all suggestions and will commence to listening. So far most of Lazlo Bain are cover songs, maybe i downloaded the wrong CD.

I hope it's okay if I change the direction of this thread a bit. It's related.

My mp3 player is broken! It's so sad. The plug for the headphones doesn't connect properly so music can only come out of one side of the headphones/speakers or the other. At first I thought it was my headphones. But it's not. It's the mp3 player. I'm very attached to it. It's very sad.

Any suggestions for a new mp3 player? Or, what do you have that you like? I don't want to spend more than like US$75.00. My boyfriend already did some research for me, but I was just curious about other people's opinions.

It is a new entry in the UK lists; even though I am not a hits-follower, I am really loving this one.

Reminds me of Prince a little (especially his performance at Royal Variety Show)
