On the odd occasion, I have a strange fascination with death. (my excuse for never -or as much close to as humanly possible-doing something I don't want to. hey, one day, I'll be dead. screw it. :D)
Okay, what would you miss most? I was just wonderin'..... if I list mine, I'll sound like a blue bird's about to land on my shoulder or something.

Do you mean if I died what are the things I'm going to miss or regret about?
I'll tell you what I'm going to regret about..!!
Of course we all here for one reason which is to worship Allah..so I'll be sorry for the days I waste in such useless things in life ...for the days I spent not doing something that is worthwhile..for the moments I made my parents angry with me for the days I saw Iraqis , palestinians.and needy people suffer without offering help...........for the moments I know that people distorted the purity of Islam by attacking... it insulting it ...and me "poor slave "can't defend... can't tell that Islam is the truth ..it is the truth..and Allah-The Almighty- is the only God And Mohammad -peace be upon him"- is the last messenger...and that we-Muslims believe that Jesus-peace be up on him- is one of the prophets and his mother Mary(Mariam)-peace be up on her- is the best Lady among all women in life.....
We Muslims like the best for the others ...
Peace....

I won't regret anything, I'll be dead.
The way my stomach grumbles when it's hungry.

I won't regret anything, I'll be dead.
:D :D oh that's great!
i will regret the times i lost my temper (such as with Sniper15), the times i procrastinated in front of my computer, the times my attention wandered when my loved ones were talking.
i will miss the california redwoods, i will miss hearing jimi hendrix, i will miss the expressions on the faces of my friends and family; i will miss their eyes. i will miss my bf's eyes, so much so that i would like to go within one second + of him. i will miss birds in the morning singing in the tree outside my second-story window.
i also hope that i'm not missed too terribly much. it's not like i've never died before.
Good question, fayefaye. However, such makes me wonder, in the existential sense, if there exists consciousness after death. Without it, one would miss nothing, nor have the ability.
Despite my skepticism, I will play along. I would miss most the face of my love.

is it an instant dead or i know that i'm going to die? if it's instant one well, i'm sure i wouldnt got the chance to think about anything..but if i know..well perhaps i may not think anything as well, i'd be busy thinking about death itself.

Someone once told me that yellow is the first colour you see whne you are born. And the last when you die. So I was thinking, would you be thinking whilst you stared at this strange yellow thing? The world through a colour filter.
I like amuse's answer very much. i s'pose you have to cherish things whilst you have the chance.. tho' that isn't really my style. :D (take things for granted and then sit around reminiscing later. :P) I like the 'procrastinated in front of a computer'..... 'cause I'm going to step away from this thing now and go walk barefoot in the park down the street.

I miss this forum, but if were dead well all be in the same warm place...; :lol: JK;
Any ways I would miss;
-My fish
-My Family
-and not being burned to a crisp in the fires of hell
If I were dead I'd miss the company of my friends (were there no internet I'd have one ... 'friend' anyway) and contact (though the contact I have now is as good as none). Thinking about it I think I'd miss very few things. I have very little to lose :). Though there could be something... if one's dead, can s/he still dream/daydream/get lost in imagination?
Depends what you mean when you say 'death' :). Is there even such a thing? As Simon said, if it all ends with death, no one's gonna miss anything.

Human beings are very adaptable creatures, at some point new things will be found and ones missed will be of little consequence as survival is more important, but death is the one persuit that seems to elude human adaptability, perhaps that survival factor has something to do with it.

If I died I would miss Frangipanis (yellow and white flower with a sweet smell that grows on a tree)... of course saying that I would have the ability to remember my life or even to exist after death which goes on with ideasx of paradise, that would be paradise for me a world filled to the brim of everything nature has to offer without the human obstruction. For someone else paradise could be a beach with white sands and large palm trees and a monkey racing up it to bring down fresh coconuts (how anyone can like coconuts is beyond me).
Being dead I doubt very much that I will be missing anything because after all its an unknown dimension.

I think when we answer this question, we don't need to concentrate on what death is or what - if anything - we would be able to feel after we are dead. I think what the question really asks us if we were to lose *everything* in one way or another, what we would miss most.
I think I would miss most smells...
-The smell of freshly made coffee or baked bread...
-Smell of my mother, which I still remember from childhood days, her perfume mixed with soap smell.
-Smell of many plants and rain
-Smell of a baby
I would also miss human warmth, laughing till tears coming form my eyes and being content.
This list can go on forever; someone stop me! :D

I will miss the chances. I will miss the chance for romance. I will miss the feeling you get when you lay it all on the line and end up winning, and i will miss the feeling you get when you lay it all on the line and end up losing. I will miss this boiling pot of random chaos. I will miss how completely nonsensical this world will always be. I will miss the feeling that there might be something more, just beyond my reach.
It'd be more of a case of, all the tons and tons of people who will miss me :p

Nice, Shouty. Nice. So what would the you just-about-to-die regret leaving behind?

Hmmmm. Maybe all the pain, sorrow, regret, and general hazard associated with being alive? The "thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to?" The fardels? ;) ;) Ah . . . *sigh*
Pwetty sunrises?

Ah! Now I understand. Thanks Scheherazade!
Based on an assumption that there is consciousness after death, and that that consciousness would be more vital, ultimately informed and clear, I would miss most the sensation of epiphany that I have so much opportunity for in life. Once ALL becomes clear, what's left to discover or become informed about? Assuming, that is...

If I died tomorrow I would miss my husband, my cat, my family, NPR, and the hope that one day I might figure it all out. I don't think I am ready to die yet. I am in selfish mode and I need to spend more of my life serving others. Then I would feel like I had accomplished something worthwhile on earth. I should get started on that.

I don`t think someone will know what he/she will miss..
I might miss him.. or maybe her..
I might miss my cellphone..
Despite my unwilling-thoughts of living, I might miss life itself.

I'll miss being able to tell people off..........
However the advantages of being a ghost and able to haunt people who annoy would be a great deal of fun.

I would miss . . . tomorrow. I always take it for granted. You know, "oh, I'll do this or that . . . tomorrow". Like there is something wrong with today . . . I think it would be nice to say, I'll live today, and die tomorrow . . . rather than the other way around. While there is a tomorrow, there is a chance, for anything. Finding your soul mate, finding yourself, finding God (whatever you conceive him/her to be), finding that apology you kept meaning to say, or that moment when saying "I Love You" won't seem ridiculous, finding laughter or meaning . . . yep, I would definitely miss tomorrow!

The library and all the librarians. I would be so sad! And my family, friends, pets, etc., too.
Perhaps a better way of looking at this is to think about what it is you like best (as in City of Angels, for those who've seen it!). For me it would be:
Laughter
Innocence
Light
Love
I can't think of anything better than these and a world/existence without them would be poor.
