I recently saw The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. It was cute, made me chuckle, made me smile, but mostly made me think. The premise of the movie was to complete the things on your bucket list, the things you would like to do before you kick the bucket.
I was wondering if anyone here would like to share an item from their list in the form of a poem....

Here is one of mine.

Garrison

I want to meet Garrison Keillor face to face.
I don't necessarily want to hug him or kiss him
or even shake his hand.
I don't want to shoot the breeze
or get his autograph, though I might enjoy
a duet or two; but the thing I want most
is to look into his eyes so he will know
how much his stories have touched me.
And if he wants to reach up and touch
the tear coming from my eye,
that will be okay too.

I have no idea about people's ages here, but I think lists of things we want to accomplish in our lives changes drastically, or maybe not. Maybe this has already been done???

Great idea amp, and a great poem. I think I may have a go, if I can think of something.

Keep thinking Fifth. ;)

While I'm waiting PATIENTLY for someone to add a list or a poem, I decided to email Garrison himself to see what he would put on his bucket list. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I also want to see this movie, glad to hear that it was a good one. :)

What a touching little poem ... the last three lines really got to me, Amp. :thumbs_up
As for me adding a list or poem, I will also give it some thought, for that is a really good idea, thanks! :)

well i guess i should write something before school.:yawnb:
this is about the only thing i can really say i want with all my heart so here it is i guess.

with little hands
and a tiny face
i`ll understand
and find my place

through eyes of wonder
every things new
my heart a flutter
watched you grew

and as i age
you should know
you opened my cage
my soul aglow

my little child
you made me proud
i passed, i smiled
for i`ll find my place within the clouds

and wait for you...

"And if he wants to reach up and touch

ampoule this line gives me energy...i guess it`s hard to explain but it`s things like this that make me want live without regrets or cares, it`s these things that come straight from our soul that drive us to go on.

haha sorry for rambling i just really like the way that line feels

Love and life are just the same.
But love keeps you going better than life when you are
lying
on your death bed.
Before I pass, I wish
to sip memories so sweet
of you and i
spending an entire day
speaking, feeling, dreaming, seeing, falling into...
nothing but each other.

No checking the clock
or answering her calls
no saying goodbye
until cold night falls

Just you and I
with nothing left to say,by the end...
except
to know
deep,deep in our hearts
that after this day
death is surely welcome.

It needs serious editing, but I think with a Bucket Poem I just should improv and go with my mind's immediate words. No great shakes or metaphors, what I feel plain n' simple. :)

Btw, great work lucidnighmares.

My Bucket Poem-

If I were to die tomorrow
I'd have but one wish
it would be to look into
you eyes one last time
and here you say
the three forbidden words
words I, myself,
have yet to say
and I would say them
in return
what next?
who knows but that feeling
just knowing it was said
that would be enough
those three words
so small, so powerful
those words we are afraid of
to early, we say,
to quick, we fear
after ten years
and yet we know it's true
that is my final wish
to here you say...

I love you.

This brought tears to my eyes. How many of us have not said it or heard it said? Very nice. I found myself a little nervous thinking those three words were not going to be I love you and that you would never tell us what they are.

I hope you don't mind. I am wondering about a few spellings though....here? to or too?

really nice, touching.
this brought a smile to my face.
it`s honest, like all that matters is that one moment, which i guess it does.
i really liked this line in particular

"those three words
so small, so powerful
those words we are afraid of"

you got it, right there is what those three words really are.
something that we fear, and even though we are afraid of it, it`s also our deepest desire.
