I am really not sure whether God is generous. If God is really generous he would really have been kind to all, and there would not be the gulf we between the poor and the rich. It is often said that God is father to and if He is so he would not be partial among his own children at all.
If he is not responsive to all what he sees why should we pray to him at all?

I am not religious, so I cannot pretend to have any idea why God acts the way he does. However, I do not think God himself is personally responsible for the gulf between the rich and the poor, or for warfare or for any of those human disasters. Many tragedies are caused by human faults and misjudgments, not because God has a sadistic desire to inflict pain on certain individuals. While it is true that there are many imbalances in our world, it is due to the nature of our society. It is too easy to blame an omnipresent deity for all of our mistakes.
We expect God to hand out treats on a plate, and we curse and doubt him for any hardship and inequalities that we encounter. Even a father, not matter how benevolent and concerned, cannot control the path that his children choose to undertake. It is too easy to measure generosity by things that belong to us alone- as if kindness was determined by gifts presented to us in cellophane green. But we have the land, the mountains and the rivers. We have control over most of the animals in this world. Is that not generosity? The only error is that God has given us the power to divide up these assets as we see fit.
Perhaps God does nothing for us, and perhaps he does. But irregardless of the question of his existence, I reckon that He provides an outlet for all our personal desires and fears and emotions. We see all the injustices of the world and vent out our anger towards him; we thank him for our opportunities and we pray to him when we are seeking hope.

Maybe you should stop praying, and don't start up again until after you strike it rich.

Yes he is generous. He gives me the air to breathe, the food to eat, the home to live in, the trials, temptations, and life experiences that make up thing called living. He does all this in spite of being ignore, neglected, despised, and rejected and taken mightily granted as if He was Super Butler. Even better he gave unconditional grace and love to those that have faith in him. He proved His generousity by giving His Son the LordChrist for us in substitution for the punishment of sin. And this is much sermonizing as I am comfortable with.
To most I would like to suspect that the question is God generous remarkably redundant but we have lived to see otherwise. Hope this helps.

Yes. God is generous. It is one of his virtues, and the virtues that we can show others by allowing God to live through us.
what can I say? I went to catholic school.

It really depends on how you define "generous".
