I'm about to start this novel for Year 12, it's the novel we're studying.

What are people's opinions and thoughts on the book? I'm interested to know how people found it before I start it.:)

Wow, that is an awesome story. I think you will really like it. Very well written, and it covers a span of life from teenage into mid 30-40's. Its a true treasure of a book. I don't want to give anything away.

It's been a couple of years since I read this book, but I remember it was amazing! After you read the book, watch the movie, it was a very good adaptation of the book. Very well done!

I read the book several years ago; in my opinion, the story is good but rather slow-moving. I watched the movie much later, I think it was rather a faithful adaptation.

it was banned in my school board because of the sex scenes. I posted about it in the literature being ruined by sex thread. I hope to read it eventually, when I have time. My writers' craft teacher reccommended it since she asn't allowed to teach it to us.
