Ladye

T'is my ladye
sweet and fair
buried 'neth tis land so bare
gnarled the hands that dug her grave
gnarled the heart which mourns her lafe.

No marker
here to indicate
unwaning beuty incarnate
and softly tears fall down to earth
to moisten mine sweet ladye's berth.

Birds atwitter
mourntful day
down beside her grave I lay
for who'll remember her in yore?
when mine aulde body is no more.
