Need help with Sylvia Plath poem

Anyone want to give me their opinion as to what the poem "Daddy" by Sylvia Plath is all about? I'm not very familiar with her work, but I was thinking it might be a lament for a father who died and left her grieving at such an early age but also a kind of love/hate relationship with her father for leaving her and in a way haunting her with both memories and questions, so much so that she couldn't wait to get rid of just the thought of him.

You hit the nail on the head, as it is true that her father in life did die when she was at a very young age, and that is something she had struggled with all her life and never completely overcame.
