online texts

do you have a list of websites that have free public domain books? and, another question, how do you go about uploading the books? do you search for them from other domains, or manually type/scan them in if they aren't found? thanks-

most of my books originally come from project gutenberg

Which is a non-profit project that distributes public domain texts. However the texts are not that organized. I divide them into chapters, stick them in my database, and make them searchable.
