Does anyboy know if anybody knows of any biograhpies that a girl their early teens would hold interest in. Any suggestions?

Eh, probably not...

...unless you're interested in biographies of ancient persons. The majority of the biographies I own are about the politicians, poets, and conquerors of classical civilization. You might be interested in a biography of J.R.R. Tolkien. I currently own the one by Michael White, which has proved sufficient, but I recommend the one done by Humphrey...er, his last name excapes me, but it was something like Carter or Carpenter.

There's also Jane Austen: Her Life and Letters by William Austen-Leigh and Richard Arthur Austen-Leigh. Perhaps that is more to your tastes.

Well first Bailey, tell us what your favorite things to do are, and what you find the most interesting to learn about. This will help.

I think the Diary of Anne Frank is appropriate, but you may be a little young. it is more an autobiograpy though.

Maybe you can find a good biography of Georgia O'Keefe an artist and very interesting person. Or Emily Dickinson...wow there must be hundreds I can think of.

you are so obsessive- try for well rounded. Don’t you think there is something to be said for diversity? There are a lot of interesting people in the world.

Going to second this, I dont think your age would be a problem I read it when I was 12 so you shouldnt have a problem.

Diary of Anne Frank is appropriate. I was 10 or so when I read it and there's just nothing in it that you shouldn't know already. Helen Keller's biography would be good too. I have a biography of Ben Franklin you might like. It's pretty good.

I think the biggest deciding factor for bailey will be the length of the book!

Anne Frank would be good then.

it's not a biography

This is true, there are however some good biographies of Anne Frank out there which make nice companion pieces to the diary. Also on the age thing: its never to early to read her diary - they're studying it in my sister's class at the moment, she's 10 and it's really given her a taste for history and reading something other than High School Musical novelisations *shudder*, we're encouraging her to persue it so much we took her to Frank's house in Amsterdam in the summer.
