As the Latin ambrosia seduced my taste buds,
And regurgitated lunar light spilled down
From the mouths of vapored dragons,
You came for me.

In that sandy, solar embrace, I lay there and
You came to me.
Blind to me, deaf to me, but still
You came to me.

Startled, like a shadow caught out after a thunderstorm,
you crept towards the pinnacle,
Neck stretched, aching, pleading, but still
You came to me.

A second column emerges in the moonwash:

"I'm sorry"

"So am I"

"Come home"

The last drop of elixir slides down my throat,
Above me they engorge once again I am left in darkness.
You came for me, but unlike him
I won't take you back.

Love this poem, it's such a compelling read, with the repetition "You came to me" giving it an almost dreamlike quality. And what beautiful images "regurgitated lunar light", "like a shadow caught out in a thunderstorm", "A secomd column emerges in the moonwash".

One to read again, and again.

Regurgitate usually makes me reminisce about all the happy times I shared with my cat and its hairballs ;), but here, in this very nice poem, it is something else, especially mixed with all those vapors and stretching and pleading, and I also like the repetition of 'you came to me' and then 'you came FOR me' goes POW!

There is indeed a commixture of both a moment of acidity followed indeed by a moment of jubilation!

Fabulous indeed> I am moved!
