A Miracle Has Happened !

In a city long hit by acute shortage
of electricity some miracle seems
to have happened; Of late, there have been
no power cut-offs--atleast for the last few days,
and I needn't have to get up time and again
to pull the gunk of my Chinese generator
to lighten my house and to reboot my computer
every time;
Incredible, the lights havn't gone off,
some miracle surely seems to have happened.
But, hold on, I am certainly wrong,
miracles have ceased to happen in this sinful world
after the departure of prophets as science seems
to have replaced the need for God to send more
prophets who could apprise humans about God,
heaven and hell, sin and piety and retribution and rewards
for their deeds and to corroborate their standing
and that of God through display of miracles;
then what on earth has brought this change,
every house is lighted and no personal computer
has to be rebooted after frequent power cut offs?
hold on, I got it! A curse has befallen the city,
the denizens have gone on strike;
they are mourning the death of their leader,
and the whole atmosphere is sounding with dirge;
shoot outs, violence, arson, looting, death;
pyromania prevails, ransacking goes on,
the city is hostage to furious rioters;
people are dying on the streets,
people are being maimed and killed on the streets,
there is complete silence all over,
the living ones in the graves of their houses,
shrouding for the safety of their lives,
life has come to a standstill,
businesses have been closed,
industry is no more sucking the amperes,
no surprise then that the city has a surplus
of electricity and every house is illuminated.
