The Ceased Love

Here is a poem of mine written one year ago.




Silence comes,

When love is gone,

Like the delicate petals

Sigh in the soft song;



Tears come,

When love fades away,

Like a long prisoned lonely bird

Suddenly set free;



Sorrow comes,

When my love has ceased

I even didn’t notice how it happened

And then it fled;



What shall come,

When we should part forever?

Shall I miss you in solitude

As I did ever?

There's a wonderful songlike quality to this, the expression of love mourned deeply but without bitterness.

This is really a good poem, and there are indeed striking contrasts and they are really appealing. There is something intriguing of course. You said love is gone but the moment thereafter is not that pathetic. There are indeed things that are really striking.
