Veni, Vidi, Vici

You knew me not, nor even yet, do many claim the recognition.
A Poet whose poems reject the norm though follow familiar paths.
One to whom meter and foot, layout of form—the devil with tradition!
I conqueror every form because I fear neither the laughter nor the wrath!
“Oh you simply must sustain the meter!” And loose my point? Sorry, no
Why write a bloody threadbare scene simply to continue on foot and meter?
Is it not so much better to make certain that he passage’s words gush and flow?
If I wanted something boring, sir, then I would write you a long dry letter!
I rule the form but not by changing all, by making what time I have say what I need,
And thus people read a poem and don’t realize it is a form at all most of the time.
Coming through the words and rhythms they find a grain of truth to plant as a seed;
A little bit of roguish wisdom, and a smile or two along the twisting lines.
Truth to be said, my poetic friend, to conqueror Poetry one must be very bold:
Forget every bit of advice they give you, and have the courage to simply let go…
