Christmas Story

In the evening a star
Showed where they were
Baby in the straw
Savior of the world
Angels told Shepherds
In fields where they lay
“Come see a miracle
in a manager of hay.”
In lands from Bethlehem,
Wise men saw the star,
For two years they traveled
To this country afar.
Herod the King
And His Priest showed them where,
They came to the house,
And saw the young child there.
Gifts they had for Him:
Gold for a King on high;
Frankincense to honor Him;
Myrrh his death to signify.
Then Herod seeking for his blood,
To Egypt he had fled.
And Herod slew the innocent ones
From age of two, Screams of Rahab…
But when His enemy had passed away,
He returned to His country.
Afraid to return to Bethlehem
He became the Nazarene…

I'm wondering if this isn't getting any comments because I don't have the wise men at the stable? Well read your Bible please: Matthew 2: [9] When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
[10] When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
[11] And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
[12] And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. It took them a long time. See who Herod Killed: Matthew12: [16] Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

No, thats not it at all in my case, I just slipped in and out of LitNet yesterday, and missed it. I think that you told the Christmas story in a short and sweet style, your facts are fine. I couldn't help but feel that with your last line

He became the Nazarene…that you were alluding a 'to be continued' kind of thought. Why? Well, because not everyone is familiar with a Bible, ergo, an explanation (poetic, natch ;) ) to explain the term the Nazarene.

If this wasn't the case with the poem, forgive me, its my interpretation, thats all. :)
