Particeps Criminis
I read about that huge car plant that folded almost overnight.
Workers showed up for the next shift to find all the gates were locked.
But they say that the CEO came out of the whole mess flying right.
Golden Parachute kicked in, he got the money, the workers got shocked!
Closed the garment factories down all around me here with short notice,
Sent the stuff overseas to factories built in jungles and rice flats.
Those people work and sew those garments for just enough to buy their weekly portions.
They sell them back in the USA at full price! Full price, plus sales tax.
Got our own oil fields and our own oil wells and they set out they doing little,
They say we can get oil cheaper if we buy it from Opec or Venezuela.
Well, why don’t we put a clamp done on our rich dude’s, the men in the middle,
And say “Get those oil wells working, Porgey, and enough of your bushwua!”
How in the devil do people think that we are ever gonna get this mess departed,
When too many are partners in crimes from the time the whole mess started!
