Lapis Lazui

It should be remembered in the first place that it was only a stone.
As semi-precious mixture of various minerals, painters valued for the hue.
The value of any mounted jewel lies not just in the jewel all alone.
There are things like cut and setting and color, lapis luzui is a special shade of blue.
Why someone should steal it when more valuable stones weren’t there to choose.
Was the very question of each and every detecting, reasoning mind.
It wasn’t as though the smash in the glass was directly above the missing ring of blue.
It was if their fingers were lead by a stumbling blinded guide.
But everything is never what it is, and The Detectives noticed a Portrait Shop next door.
Whose painter quarantined his work “would look as if painted by the old masters”
And very happy was he to play the portraits up his Studio Floor.
And soon the Police Detectives spied the way the lapis luzui in the blue eyes clusters.
And it wasn’t very long before full confession was soon forthcoming:
Seems our artist friend ran out of lapis luzui during the night and the portrait was due next morning!
