I would like to know what a "tragic element" is. More specifically, an example from The Kite Runner would be helpful. I have searched with the help of google without any luck.

presumebly... though im no expert it is the parts of a picec that could be classesd as tragic, things that make it a tragedy?

Like for instance, in Jude the Obscure, one of the boys killed himself because he tought that there were too many of them and the family lived in povery. So his death would somewhat give a benefit.
