Aglaya and Nastasya

Hi, I would loooove to get some ideas and thoughts on my research paper on Idiot...Here is my tentative thesis statement:

In Dostoevsky’s Idiot, both main female characters, Nastasya Fillipovna
Barashkin and Aglaya Ivanovna Yepanchin are strong women because they are intelligent, however, while Aglaya is within the society norms, Nastasya is
outside of them. Both girls like to be in control of the situation,
however sometimes they cannot control themselves emotionally in the
presence of Prince Myshkin. What combines both women is that Prince loves
them: Aglaya represents his human-like love and Nastasya represents his
saint side-love out of pity.

I also think Aglaya likes him only because of his illness and Nastya because he is so different from other mens around her.

WHAT IMPORTANCE DOES ALL OF THIS HAVE FOR THE NOVEL?

His relationship to Aglaya and Nastya; two different kinds of love are actually basic in plot of this novel.

I think he's passionate for Nastasya. He fell in love with her as soon as he saw her picture, because she was so beautiful. But he loves Aglaya as a sister or a friend. When Aglaya says she would reject him if he proposed he said he wasnt really going to propose. :flare: I'm really confused :flare: and I have to write the essay by tomorrow :(
