I am from Nepal. I think fee people have heard about this tiny country. Nepal is though small in size and a little backward in development and poor in terms of per-capita income but culturally, geographically, historically, civilizationally, spiritually, mythologically, religiously, naturally it is a rich country and I am proud about that. I do not care I am in a poor country but I take pride in the fact that we are richer than other developed economies in many important aspects.

I am from Escuminac New Brunswick Canada.
I just finished reading the Thornton W Burgess bedtime syory book Bowser the hound. I had been searching for his writings for a number of years to present to my two sons. I enjoyed not only the story as much as when I first read it 55 years ago but could not keep tears from welling up in my eyes even after all these years. God works in mysterious ways indeed.

Chipper up, Daniel. Wisconsin's not all bad. Madison is a fantastic city. Stoughton has a wealth of theatres for such a small town. And you mustn't miss out on the riches of Spring Green, like I said before.
Where am I from?

The birthplace of western philosophy, the cradle of democracy, the only country allowed to call feta cheese by its proper name (everybody else has to say "white, soft goat cheese" as per the dictates of the Commerce Bereau of the European Union). I'm also Scottish, though thankfully living in America... I consider myself American, and nothing but.
The Scots certainly aren't Europeans; what they are is England's doormat, and deservedly so. Forget notions of Braveheart and nationhood, and Highland honor... what they've become is gutless socialists living in a Nanny State, tied to England's apron. It would cost us not one drop of blood to be liberated from English rule, simply vote to become a completely independent nation... and not even that is possible.
A kilt is no more than a Catholic schoolgirl's uniform, bagpipes a sack of tortured kittens.

Scotland isn't England's doormat. The previous two prime ministers were Scots (if you count Blair). Half the Labour government was Scottish at one point. Scots were very enthusiastic empire builders at one point. Somehow, many of them like to feel like they are victims now. It's not as if they want true independence anyway. They want to keep the Pound and stay in the EU, which means doing whatever Germany and France tell them to do.

Not necessarily. I once worked with a guy who was a cross-dresser and he told me that he wore a kilt for social occasions.
He was probably less than 5ft tall and when I suggested that perhaps he might be the cause of amused comment, he replied, ' My legs have received admiring glances.'

After living in this country for 15+ years, I decided to take the plunge and applied for British citizenship. .. And took the citizenship test last month. Feel more British than anyone I know now that I know how many members Welsh, English and Scottish parliaments or juries have or when Thatcher was first elected an MP or how old was Mary when she became a queen... Not to mention the kind of paintings produced by Turner or music composed by Vaughan Williams.
(5/100 college lecturers were able to pass this test)

Congratulations, Scheherazade! That must have been a hard test if only 5 out of 100 can pass it. Or maybe they don't realize they should prepare for it.The test is hard but my point was that while the immigrants who are applying for citizenship are expected to know the answers to these questions, average (native) Brits wouldn't. .. As proven by the mock test given to the 100 better-than-average educated collage tutors. I sincerely doubt that my neighbors know when Magna Carta was signed or when women over 30 were given the right to vote.
