Tonight I sit in my car
And start to wonder why things are the way they are.
Why does the sun rise in the east?
Why does the sun set in the west?
Why does love have you in such a mess?

To say "I love you" just isn't enough,
To express true emotions, boy, that is tough,
To want you,
To hold you,
To have you,
Those are my desires....
So many thoughts of you still my mind and heart never tire.

Being yours is what I want,
But it is true, what I have been taught,
Everything happens in its own time..........
Even the quest to make you mine.

I suppose you are new here. You are first of all welcome.
Your poem is really interesting to read, something deeply written. Is appealing of course. I got moved by it.

Yes there are expressions about true love and of course how true loves goes intensely and profoundly.

Here there is surrender, and unconditional love. There are no compromises. No sense of individuality and here union is desired and of course that is the end of it. If duality remains love can not flower. Here there is a desire of to be at one with each other. Simple the poem is but this is telling. Definitely simple poems are what readers choose to read. Difficult poems express arrogances and vanities and nothing else. Simple poem flow spontaneously cascading from the heart and is indeed something that presents you and represents the sensibility of the composer.

I honestly love your poem. The whole thing is great, but the first stanza is just terrific. It's actually original, which in a lot of love poems is near impossible. I may not be an expert on poetry, but I think this one is most definitely a keeper. =)

Thank you both. I wrote expressing my feelings about someone. I didn't just put pen to paper, like you said Blazeofglory, it was spontaneous and it came from the heart.
