And then I have some imitation Ray Ban movie star sunglasses, but I don't wanna clog up this page with me. I've already bombarded you with pictures of people with glasses.
Anyways, what do you think of them? I honestly can't imagine not wearing glasses anymore ever since I got my pair of fake ones. (I have better than perfect vision, curses.) I mean, a couple of my outfits look better without them, but come on! I need some sort of...accessory.
Are you attracted more to a potential mate if they are bespectacled? I fall under that category. I like guys with glasses. A lot.
Who are your favorite people who wear glasses?
Just look at andave_ya's signature, too! Mr. Howard Shore there.
I remember one time a few weeks ago I opened the dishwasher as it was drying some dishes and my glasses fogged up and I thought I was going blind so I writhed around on the ground for a little bit until the fog cleared up.
My favorite frames are coke-bottle frame ones.
And then it took me a while to remember to take off my glasses when putting on a sweatshirt or something like that.

 I wish I were in your shoes. Glasses are the biggest pain. I am helpless without mine and I wish I didn't need them. The worst thing is when the cat knocks them off the night stand and I have to feel around for them in the morning.
Men seldom make passes at women who were glasses (or something like that). Because my purpose in life is to try to get as many men as possible to make passes at me :D NOT
But, I really wish I didn't need them. I would rather have the option of having to wear them to look ________ (insert adjective here) rather than needing them and never being able to go to the pool or something without them. Riding a roller coaster is no good. Hated playing basketball in them because I had stupid goggle things on my head. Glasses suck.

Glasses are the biggest pain.
Couldnt agree more. I hate the idea of having to see the world through these spherical nuisance. Wearing them for fun is okay, but wouldnt u hate them when u cant walk in the rain without having raindrops blur ur vision, or cant play cricket with the others?! + a 100 other complaints (some of'em already pointed out by Shalot). I really really wish I could see the world without a via!
It's cool to wear them, but cooler to be able to get on without them when u want to!

Lilly, I love that picture of you!!!! Your expression is priceless.
I do wear glasses. When I first got them, they were hated with passion, but now I notice that I do look much better with them. I suppose I'd rather be without, but at the time being, I'm fine with them.
They're big and purple, too.

Shalot and symphony, I agree with you. Even though Lily Adam's picture is just 'adorable' with those funky glasses - I hate glasses with a passion.:flare: I even hate them more now ,that I am older - you know, dumb biofocals and all that stuff! My friend hated her biofocals so much, she had them removed from her glasses; of course, she was no better off; probably she was worse off; she said she made a dire mistake, when she got new glasses without them.
Have either of your tried contact lens, Shalot and symphony ? I used to have them and I really liked them, although in dry air, I did have some problems; but going swimming was like heaven - I actually could see the ocean and the pool and the lake. Before, I had to grope my way to the water's edge! Skiing was so nice, too...no more snowdrops on glasses - yeah! Unfortunately, I developed a dry-eye problem, from some other reason, and had to give up those glorious contacts. And I don't knock mine off the nightstand, as a rule, but I am always leaving them somewhere, and I forgot where...since actually I see better reading or the computer screen up close, without any on...so off I go in another 'panic' to track them down. I can't begin to tell you, the countless hours I have wasted, in this pursuit. The problem is: I can't find them because I can't see!:eek2:
So Lily Adams, do be thankful that you were blessed with 20/20 vision and don't have to wear those glasses, even if you like the look of them with certain outfits.
In conclusion - ugh, I truly hate them and I asked my eye-doctor, if I could get that surgery to correct them, since I have a small cataract beginning in one eye (gee, now I am giving away my age:( ). Anyway, he sometimes does the corrective vision surgery the same time and one never needs glasses again. Now I almost welcome old age! :D

Lenses are still too expensive for me. :( I'm unemployed at the moment (had to give up teaching those dangerous kids due to my own academic pressure).
Oh and these are my glasses by the way:

I like mine simple.
But i'll have to admit, Lily u do look great in those funky glasses, dudette! :thumbs_up :D
In conclusion - ugh, I truly hate them and I asked my eye-doctor, if I could get that surgery to correct them,
My doctor said i can have that operation once i'm 21 or so, i look forward to that, and hope i'll have enough money for it when i'm 21. First my lens-power would have to come to a definite no. though, my lens-power's still unstable, still in an increasing spree. :(

Love my glasses, hate it when i take them off and people are all about "You're so pretty without glasses!" Hmpf...

I used to hate wearing them at the beginning...but I've now got used to them, so much in fact that I forget to take them off when I don't really need them!
I've tried using contact lenses as well, but it's a waste of money for me: I can't seem to find a brand that will not irritate my eyes after 2 weeks and then I forget I've opened a new pair so they go to waste....
Anyway, my glasses (I'm thinking of changing them and get something less..pink!)

Here's a picture of me with my glasses. This is from last weekend with Larry the Leprechaun. I've been wearing glasses since 17, which is about 29 years ago. Boy that's a long time. I've had many styes over the years, mostly large and owl like. Now the style is small and you can barely tell I wear glasses. I would be lost without them. I don't need them to read, but it feels funny reading without them. Reminds me of a friend at work who needs to put on his glasses to hear what you're saying.

Hated playing basketball in them because I had stupid goggle things on my head.
OOH goggles are even BETTER. They make you look like a MAD SCIENTIST.
I do see what you guys mean, though. I can see how they can be a pain.
Lilly, I love that picture of you!!!! Your expression is priceless.
Thank you. :D
They're big and purple, too.
YAY purple! I love purple. I bet they look so cool.

Again, thanks. :D
So Lily Adams, do be thankful that you were blessed with 20/20 vision and don't have to wear those glasses, even if you like the look of them with certain outfits.
Uh-huh. I actually have 15/20 vision or something like that. But I've noticed my vision isn't quite what it used to be. (I'm getting OLD.) But I can still see extrememly well.
I'm sorry about that and good luck with all that symphony!
Love my glasses, hate it when i take them off and people are all about "You're so pretty without glasses!" Hmpf...
Then a friend of mine when asked to give me a compliment on a low day told me he had always found my glasses very attractive. Man... I was happy all week!
Whenever I don't wear mine people are like, "WHERE ARE YOUR GLASSES!??!?!" :0 And then when I wear them people always say, "They're so cool" or something like that. I get random compliments from random people. I think it's because they're so big and it's obvious they're fake. Earlier when I didn't have those I had just frames, no lenses. :D Now that brought attention. The other day, some kid said in the hall, "Whoah, those glasses are SEXY." But I really think he was joking like, "Whoah, what a nerd." Which I thought was funny.
I love that picture of you, Nick! Tea!!!!!! That is such a cool, sophisticated picture.
How do I look in my glasses LIly, you know?
You look better with them. :D
YAYYYY Virgil and Larry! Larry needs glasses! Anyways, I'll probably get the point wear I wear my "glasses" so much that I'll need them to hear, too.

Ok, I am going to get brave and post 3 photos of me, here in this thread - now this is a real rarity, because I always hate my photos...I am shy when it comes to picture taking...So here goes nothing:
This one is pretty current; my hair is shorter and I have more white mixed in so it appears lighter, also I am wearing newer glasses, slightly bronzy-pink and frameless at the bottom; these now are actually going to be replaced soon, since they got older, too. Photo angle makes me look like I have a double chin - I really don't...honest.;)
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p70/sealace/JanineCurrent2.jpg
This one is from a few years back - yes, longer hair and a thinner face, I think....younger looking, too, with less white in my hair...oh well, aging can't be avoided, right? Ok, these are my older glasses - more pinkish metallic and slightly larger frames, but clear on the bottom - no line bifocals.
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p70/sealace/Janine14.jpg
Last one is no glasses - no glare and you can see my 'baby blues' better, don't you think? Don't look at my silly smile. I can't smile right for cameras! It is my thin lips...hahaha...we all can't be perfect I guess! haha:lol:

Thanks. I didn't post it because I wasn't so crazy about it. My face looks kind of fat. Must be the camera angle. ;) Thanks on the glasses. It took a few months of getting used to. First they are the smallest glasses I've ever had. There's just too much space I see that's not through the glass which took time for the brain to filter out. I see yours are even smaller. Second, they are progressive, which is something us older people have to get. The bottoms are for up close and the top is for distance. Unlike bi-focals they transition from one to the other but without a line spearating. That took a while getting used to.

Just saw this thread today--I think I can relate to it. That's good for you, lily; in fact, I wish I were more like you. I had to wear glasses since I was seven, correctional glasses first until I was about 8 and glasses for astigmatism since fifth grade. I agree with the others--glasses to me have always been a nuisance since the time I became totally dependent on them (that was when I started high school) and right now I'm thinking of getting contacts, knowing how much these red half-frame glasses have diminished my attractiveness. Here's a black-and-white picture of me wearing them that I managed to find over the internet:

It does NOT. D:
That's the opposite for me. When I got my thick frames I had to get used to big black blind spots on the side of my head. Since I don't need them, when I want to see I usually slide them down to the tip of my nose and sometimes they fall off my face.
Just saw this thread today--I think I can relate to it. That's good for you, lily; in fact, I wish I were more like you.

Thanks, Lily, for your compliments on my photos and my glasses. I look younger in the 'non-glasses' picture, because actually, I was 'younger' there, by a few years! I guess you did not say it, but someone did so, in a one of the posts, I forget who now.
Here is my experience with glasses and then having contracts. First off, the first time you get contacts, it is so unbelievable when you have been virtually blind, without a pair of glasses sitting on your nose. Second your peripheral (sp?) vision is wonderful, whereas before wearing glasses, it was virtually non-exist - more like a blur on the two sides of your head. It feels like a whole world has opened up to you and you see like normal people do. It feels so amazing first time you have them in your eyes. I can't understand wearing glasses if you don't have to - I find them totally annoying, even if I were to look the coolest and prettier with them on. I hate the mark they make on the bridge of my nose and picture taking - well forget it - all glare!:( In the summer they feel hot on my face and sometimes when you are active the sweat annoys you from the glasses. Also I have no-line biofocals also but in actuality I have to remove my glasses to read or see the computer. My bifocals are set more for about one foot and a half out from my face - there I am totally blind without bifocals. I hate bifocals completely but they are a necessary evil I am afraid. I take my glasses on and off all day long and I find I am never satisfied either way. They have to come up with new revolutionary biofocals or some other solution for us near-sighted, far-sighted old people..:bawling:
Here is a really funny story. When my son was younger and went into the National Guard, for his basic training the Army issued him these really geeky thick black glasses - he hated them, but had to wear them when he reported for duty, so he referred to them as his 'birth control' glasses! I sometimes ask him if he still has those awful 'BC' glasses? We both reminiese and laugh.
I have a question on style. It seemed just like Virgil, I also, had larger glasses for sometime and then the new small styles came in and I really hated them at first. I had wire frames way back in the 70's in college and I fought going back to that look. Finally, I got used to seeing everyone with small frames - it seems they kept shrinking and shrinking...
So, my question now is this - are big frames now back in style? I do like larger frames for sunglasses and I usually get black ones - they look best with dark lens and I like my len's really dark. For my everyday glasses though I found the smaller frames did not look like coke-bottle lens on my - otherwise with larger ones it distorts the sides of my face a bit and I really hate that...also the lens get thick and uncomfortable when they are larger. I might have to stay with smaller lens even if I am out of style now, once again.
I always got such a kick out of Erkel's glasses! He was really cool! haha...

[FONT="Courier New"]I knowwwww! D: I'm sorry! I really, honestly haven't seen any of his movies, sadly, but I plan to, soon! I do have his glasses, though. :D
*gasp* You know who else I forgot?! Man or Astroman?! They wear glasses a lot.

And here's Mr. Allen:

Yes, and oddly enough, I think those glasses were what women were attracted to. He looks more 'brilliant' with them on. ;) What else could it be?
Cool Astroman photos, Lily A!:thumbs_up

So cool.
I'm surprised about people complaining about their glasses. I've been wearing glasses since I was about 8 and never had a problem with them. Well for almost 10 years, from age 14 to 13, I used contact lenses most of the time, they are indeed more practical, yes even to play basketball, swim, anything). But about 3 years ago I started to be annoyed by them, maybe also because of a problem that rised in the meantime, and I got used to glasses again instead. I'd love to try contacts again but I'm too lazy and I do think I look better with glasses.
The only things I hate are when you go into a warm place and it's cold outside, and they get all...you know what I mean, and when I take a shower and then I don't remember where I put them and it takes me 15 minutes to find them again. Yes I'm very short-sighted
