An Experiment. I am a scientist so you are in good hands ;-)
I hypothesis that on the whole women like snakes.
1. I am a women and I like snakes.
2. I am a man and I like snakes.

Ah Symphony. The experiment is to find whether women like snakes more than men. The experiment is designed thus ;-) Trust me I am a scientist :D

Your poll presumes that there are equal number of male and female members on the Forum but only 36.32 % of our members are male; hence, it is only natural that number of female members who say "yes" to your poll should be higher than those males who say "yes"... which means your poll is flawed from the outset.
Oh, and I am not a scientist.

Yes, if women love snakes, it will indicate a link with a love for the phallus, and if women don't like snakes, it will also indicate a love for the phallus, it will just mean that this love is repressed. Pft, psychology!

How wide a poll is this? How many responses are you looking for? Well, you must keep in mind that psychologists see beyond things. (insert the X-Files music theme here). They see what you do not see, they see what is hidden behind the barriers of the conscious. They know the truth. They want to believe. :D They form a secret society and they have the keys as to how spiders might unconsciously remind us of female genitalia.

I love it how psychology theories sometimes come from nowhere! That reminds me of what one of my American teachers told us once. She had gone to a seminar about psychology, and you know how psychologists LOVE finding the hidden meanings of words.
Well, one of the French psychologists had made an entire demonstration about how the title of a book of clinical psychology had a pun hidden in it and how it revealed things about its author. Well well, that was nice except from the fact that the book title was ONLY the French translation of the real title, and thus the author had absolutely no intention to make any pun since he had not written the French words!

I enjoyed our Banter although I think I was more amusing in the conversations :D
Just kiddin :D

Until next time...

In that case Baroness of Lakedistrict then...there is lots of mountains there and lakes...I hope you don't hate lakes!!!

In fact, my Dear Lote, I DID MISS MY DAMN TRAIN!!!!! I first missed the bus, but it was ok because there was another one after, and it would still bring me to the train in time. I waited in the cold, and then the bus arrived. I raised my hand to make him stop, BUT it did NOT stop!!!! I got so mad!! :flare: I waited in the cold for a new bus, but of course then I arrived too late for my train and I had to wait for the next one. It's ALL your fault, Lote. You are sooo amusing that people prefer missing their train than stopping being entertained by you. :D
And no, I didn't talk to anyone about genitalia in the train, I prefer keeping these discussions for you. I just know that if I need to talk about genitalia, Lote will always be there to listen attentively. :D
Damn, I had to retype this whole message because it just disappeared. I am sure it is your fault once again, Lote. I mean, people love it so much to write to you that they write twice, just to make the pleasure last. :D
Now, Fifth, you said:

Well then I DEFINITELY take the lakes. And Lote, it is TOO LATE to say no now. Too late. I am the official Barroness of Lakedistrict now, and no one can do anything about that. :p
Huh, Lote, yes I am French!! Didn't I say it before??? I only said I 'felt' American, that does not mean that I AM American, you see? Just like when you say you 'feel' you are amusing. :D :D
I am cunning? What does that mean?

Thanks for your sympathy, Dear Lote. :D But...that's still your fault. :p
Yes I drive, but I have no car! I mean, I have my driver's license, but I only use my mother's car when I need it because I don't need to have my own car and pay the insurance of it if I never really use it. And yes I am stingy, I don't want to pay for a car. :D I am keeping my money for next year when I might go studying in the US!! :)

Yes, about spiders and female genitalia. I have written a thesis about how spiders represent female genitalia and I am so happy to teach these useful theories to you. You might even use it again in your job as an entertainer. You will credit me, I hope. :p Perhaps I could get some money everytime you mention this to make people laugh. I own the copyrights on this.

You should not make the mistake of classifying King in the horror genre. He does not write about horror, contrary to what people think. I have never been scared by any of his books, but it is not what I search in them. I search what you mentionned, that is a great development of characters and the general atmosphere that he conveys so well, and these towns which make me feel at home. By the way, will you reveal to us the results of your snake experiment? :D Your whole audience is waiting, Lote. Your audience is there, waiting for any word from you, Dear Lote. Some women are even screaming your name, I can hear them. :D
Hey look at the results. Do you still want me to analyse it? The data already speaks for itself. My hopthesis is proven :D

Ahah! No, I cannot have any twin because I am unique. :D
Now, you must realize that since there are several people accusing you, that points the finger in YOUR direction. It's ALL your fault. Even the hole in the ozone layer is your fault. :D

The thing is that I don't remember your hypothesis!
EDIT: Oh yes your hypothesis was that women liked snakes! Well, my objection to the fact that it is proven is that some women on this forum are not representative of women in general!

Now about the Ozone - yes as a Scientist I must take the blame for that :-( We did not know the full consequences of the effects of CFCs :-( but I think everyone should also take some responsibility in this for using such products in such a massive scale :D There should be NO BLAME CULTURE in this - we are Japanese ;-)

Are you really a scientist in real life? I am juts curious. :p

I have always had a problem with representative samples. I think no sample can be representative of a population and that if different people had been chosen for a sample, the results would have been different in any experiment. In the meantime, I think I might be wrong about that, just like when I once argued that 2+2 could equal 5, but then I realized I was talking linguistics rather than mathematics. Anyway, that's another debate. :D
I have to go now, for 2 days again, and I WILL NOT miss my damn train, you hear me???

As a scientist....oh and one that works in the chosen field of science...I can honestly say that your scientific method is flawed...I never trust a scientist...science is peer reviewed...this peer finds flaws in your data gathering method just as many others have...nuff said.

Lote, since you've agreed to give me Wales, is there a way I can become Princess of Wales without marrying the ugly Prince of Wales? ... I think I'll go for Coventry after all. Or Shrewsbury (but only if you pronounce my title correctly! it doesn't rhyme with new but with so!!!)

Yes, this is another example of Lote's lack of Englishness. Having asked for a part of England, as I believe you did Sleepy, he offered you Wales!!! Really though, you can take it, the Prince of Wales is already married, so I think you're safe ;)
Doesn't Shrewsbury have an Earl? I thought it did. Anyway, Sidmouth is still on offer but the Lakes are off-bounds :p If you were willing to compromise I think Hull is available, or Grimsby - your choice!
Lote - I can offer you some UK geography lessons if you like, you seem a little confused!

hehehe :) don't be so strict with him :) I did ask for a part of England but then I added if he wants to get rid of his Welsh neighbours, I'd gladly accept Wales :)
I'll marry the Earl of Shrewsbury then :) is he good-looking? or at least rich? probably he's a pauper and his castle is run my the National Trust? :(

Can't find a photo, but you can have him if you can say his whole name without pausing for breath:
Charles Henry John Benedict Crofton Chetwynd Chetwynd-Talbot, 22nd Earl of Shrewsbury, 7th Earl Talbot and 22nd Earl of Waterford
Take Wales, it's the safe bet - think of all those rugby players :brow:

bah, rugby players! I prefer the 5'6'' blue-eyed Anthony Hopkins look-alike Welsh miner-dwarves :D
seriously, I took a guided tour of a mine in Wales once and the guide (an ex-miner) looked exactly like Hopkins (and had a cute Welsh accent). If he hadn't been wearing a hard hat I'd have clubbed him unconcsious and dragged him to my lair :D )

Yes, you are right. :D In the meantime I must admit that I still see him tanned, somehow. (see I have moved from black to tanned, which means that in my next message he will have become white or even transparent:D ).
I would really be curious to know if there are other people who thought he was black.
