Urgent! Please Help Me With A Title!

I am on a mission for a man. He has asked me, as I work at a bookstore to find a particular book. I have no title, no author.

The basic storyline is a father that gives his son a doll with strings. Each time the son pulls the strings his life changes or progresses. The punchline to this story is "Dont Pull The String!"

Any help with a title would be greatly appreciated!

Actually this sounds like an episode of the old Twilight Zone television series. Maybe it was The Outer Limits or--a long shot--Alfred Hitchcock Presents. There is undoubtedly more than one
website listing the various episodes, and you might find it there. It may also list the original short story on which it was based.
