I am writing an essay on the power of redemption as seen through the character Sonya. Any thoughts about how she is used as a redeemer? Any specific quotes or passages that support this?

thanks

Well this wont be an answer to our question but there are things i want to learn too.

Well for me "Sonya" was the shallowest character in CP or this is what i have feel.CP was so touching so "human" that while i was reading the book i had begun to feel myself as Rodya. So in their conversations there is something that touches your heart "is that the pity or love?"

Do every man fond of those "weak" woman or is that so called "weak" woman is stronger than our "superior human" Rodya.

Sonya was faithful even she is "dirty" and Rodya was unfaithful by his judging that someone can crime if he/she does not think that would be a crime (for the greater good etc..)

Rodya even thinks that every people can control his destiny and Sonya thinks they cant because of her job.But does so she sincere about her thoughts? Or she is a true believer so that she never lose the faith even in the worst circumtances.

And why Sonya helps him? She sees the her own struggles in Rodya?

I was disgusted Sonya (like Rodya i think) but I (he) still search the comfort in her.

Well the only thing was the book so great that becasue of this?

I did not see her as a redeemer the redeemer was Petrovich cause is not he the one who force Rodya to face his crime so that he can redeem himself.

Well my sentences are disjointed i hope you can understand me.

Ah and my question was a be truly off topic but it is an important one i think?

Do you think that Rodya still be in guilt if he did not killed Lizaveta (sister of the moneylender) or Petrovich's attitude makes him to feel it? ( i dont count the "humanity" as one of the reason here cause it truly seems taht has seen in the book)
