Hi, I was just curious how many people own a TV. I don't have one, and think it is just plain old better to not have one. I realise that there are few things that I need, and TV makes me want more things...all those advertisements.

Yes I owe one in my apartment. I don't watch it that much though. However it's useful to watch DVD's.

Yes. I recently bought a 19" flat lcd tv for my bedroom. Its up on the wall and out of the way. Just had no room for a normal tv anymore.

I own a TV and I admit I watch far to much of it. It wouldn't be bad but sometimes if I'm bored I'll just sit down and channel surfer and wind up doing nothing.

In the past I've made rules about TV watching that I always seem to break, the lastest was no TV until after 7 pm and one that I almost broke the immediately was the "no TV every other day" because my favorite TV show ended up being on a no TV day.

Yes, as of this september my flatmates sneaked one in while I wasn't here. Then of course I had to pay part of the license!!!!
And yes, none of us watch it that often...why do we have it is actually a mystery. I suppose I do watch csi once in a while. And dvd's....

I play DVDs on the computer. I like that I can use my computer for that.

I only use my tv really to watch dvds. Tv is actually quite boring.

We have a tiny TV in our apartment,
don't watch a lot of TV. More DVD's than actual TV.

yes, but it's my roommate's old tv that he gave me. It is literally 20 years old at least. I don't have cable, and I almost never watch it. So I'm pretty close to not having a tv.

I use my computer for dvd's. I was considering buying a dvd player after my roommate gave me his old tv. But then I realized that the tv was so old, I'd have to buy all these crazy adapters in order to use a dvd player with it!

I own a TV. I couldn't watch Football in HD if it weren't for TV. There's nothing like it on a 60 inch screen. If it's raining, you can see each rain drop. :thumbs_up

P.S. And :thumbs_up to u Shalot for that sig, Tagore's been my hero since i was a kid, any of his work's a treat for my eyes wherever it be. :)

We have two--living room and the spare study/computer room. I keep threatening a Rockford Files marathon or Le Femme Nikita. Very few shows I'm following right now and I keep thinking the DVDs will be for the rainy day time.

Yes, we own three. I hardly ever use it to watch television, I only use it for playing tapes or DVDs. Sometimes I wish that's all we used it for, because my mother watches complete garbage on them and it bugs me a lot.

we have several..I get so angry cuz it's a waste of money (and I can't convince my dad..stubborn)
one of them is a 60 inch too, but no one watches football or anything that actually is useful on big LCDs...
I do watch CSI and Law and Order and the discovery channel, and food network when Good Eats is on, but on the normal sized one--I'm old fashioned...

:D I love that show! Who am I kidding? I love James Garner! :p

I went through a phase where I didn't watch too much TV. Now I literally base my life around the nightly schedule! It is most definitely NOT healthy! My TV broke last year and I went crazy for the few nights that I didn't have it (I need it when I go to sleep at night - it is literally the only thing that will help me sleep!). So, I didn't buy anything expensive to replace it. I just decided to get exactly what I had before. Except I lucked out this time with a very nice-looking black television. It looks better in the room. :)

Oh, I haven't thought of that show in ages but I used to watch it all the time! I just loved Michael, no one brooded quite like him. :D

We have 4 tvs which is kind of a lot, I admit. I think the majority of the time the tvs are used for either dvds or games although there are a few shows I try very hard not to miss and I'm horribly addicted to the History Channel and TLC.

And satellite-dish TV, top 150 and locals, basically 75 percent you wouldn't watch if you were a serious couch potato and there was noting else on. I have about two maybe 3 shows in a day that I watch. When season is out, I have plenty of DVDs and books. Why can't they allow ME to choose My own package? They assume somebody in the family is a sports freak, someone is a pervert, and someone is a rabid online shopper!

I could care less about sports, I am a Christian, (which doesn't mean I am not a man or not tempted, it means I have learned self-control and I love my wife and would die before I did anything to hurt her in any way. I believe Christianity only consists of what you would do if you knew you wouldn't get caught. The other isn't self-control, it's conditional.) When we shop online, we know what we want and where to find it, without the aide of these sales channels. If I wanted the Sirrus Radio , I'd buy a receiver. Good grief!

My family owns about five TVs. The one that is watched the most is the one with bunny-ear antennas (sp?). We only get three channels. But we have plenty of DVDs!

I only watch TV about 1 hour per week. With only three channels to choose from, there isn't much to watch.

then I broke down and bought one with satellite hook-up....and then my daughter moved back in with me, bringing a son-in-law and 2 more tv's...

Almost everyone in my country owns a TV. I'm not exactly addicted to it, though; I just watch whenever there's something good on.

I don't have a tv, but fortunately my flatmate has, and she lets me watch my favourite series in her room. I don't spend much time watching the tv. I watch Gilmore Girls (they're currently showing the last season here, Finland is always a bit left behind with all the tv-series...), Heroes (the first season), Ugly Betty (it's the second season, I guess) and... well, I guess that's it. I've already seen the episodes of House M.D. that are shown here now (the second season).

I have about 8 TVs in my house... >.< Kind of no need, but we have one in like every room. =/ I see no point in it sometimes, but my family really like TV, I live on the computer though, unless I want to play a game, then I look to the TV for my fulfilment. ^_^

I own tv. I don't use it a lot and it's the last option to be used if I happened to get confuse on how should I kill the time.

I know that the one thing I miss the most is my comedy central Logos...It is my only loss without a TV, I go to the home site and peruse a little.

I own a TV, but we don't have any sort of service. We don't have cable or a dish or anything. We just rent movies once in a while.

Comedy Central and Adult Swim on Cartoon Network are the only programs I really miss... and maybe Graham Norton.

I own a tv. Mainly for sports and news (i watch the news twice or thrice a day). I also watch movies (dvd and movies broadcasted by our public network mainly) and there is a tv show i watch every Tuesday (a kind of stand-up comedy) and talk shows (but only if something important is being discussed.

Comedy central is hurting right now so you don't miss much :p ... but I fully support the writers, they deserve comprehensive compensation. I think the CC will be better when the dealing is done :D

It was shocking for me when I found out that in Denmark, we need to pay the so called media license. So, even if you don't use it, you still must pay. Maybe the same thing goes to countries accross Europe.

Well.....I'm going ot be in film school soon and I think owning a tv is quite the help in expanding my studies :p . I got the LCD, surround sound, hoping to get a HD DVD or a blu-ray player soon, you name it :D . Even though, I still mostly only watch movies (lots and lots of them) and very little TV especially lately what with the off-season and the writers strike and all that.
