If, what a powerful word. write what it maeans to you and use it in a sentance. And DON'T use a dictonary definition, I want to know what you think. I'll go first.
If: what might have happened, could have happened.
what if I thold him, what would his reaction be, would he notice me?

"If" can go in so many directions
If I had a million dollars
If I were younger/older/wiser/prettier.....on and on
If I had done something different, how would my world or the whole world be different than it is now?

It makes you wonder if the world would be changed, if so, a little or a lot. Would anything I did make any difference at all???? You know, If I had done something different, maybe I wouldn't have had MH, or if MH had grown up somewhere else
would she have ever met mr. mh and if not, where would that put you if it put you in the world at all....one little tiny thing could have made so much difference..or things would have worked out just like they are in the end????

If only I had worked hard for that exam.

If only I had bothered to re-check my examination paper.

If only I had not been too over-confident.

If only the teacher was someone else.

What if dad had taken the Boston job instead of coming here?

What if you could make that if happen!?!

If...is a consideration,a regret,a hope...

What if what we don't believe to be true, turnes out to be so?

What if we're never dissapointed?

What if what I deeply desire is going to be true?

What if my if is true?Wouldn't that be something?...

I Max would leave me alone.
If I were an only child.
If I wre brave enough to tell him...

What if there wasn't an if? (of course, my father's reply would be "what if?" :p )

"If"

a choice I couldn't take, something which may have happened or never will.

If I could sing....
If I had kept on being a dancer and worked at it.....
If I wasn't who I am.......

If I could ever be satisfyed
If I never came to America
If my heart stopped right now
If my life slipped from my fingers
If I couldn't afford to pursue higher education
If I was disabled
If I was alone
If I never was a coward
If I were a hermit
If I didn't exist, how would the world be different?
If I never resolved my 'issues'
If I didn't attend a small school
If I had dropped out
If I had a better relationship with my dad
If my high-temperament diminished
If I told myself the truth about myself

I think similar to Granny, this is what usually happens to me when I start sentences with if . . .

If only I had applied to a different set of graduate schools . . . wait, but I'm really happy where I am so why am I even thinking about it? Usually, things work themselves out.

Except this one, I still haven't resolved:

If I hadn't left Senegal earlier than I was meant to . . . :(

Hmm... "if". It's a very universal word.

What if (and)
if only

are just the bare basics of the ways in which the word if can be used. Anyway...

What if I had never fallen in love? (My life would be oh so different.)

How about 'as if'?

and also "if, then" clauses. those are good.

If I have hot chocolate, then I will be happy. :D

I don't even know if that's a good example, but I'm drinking hot chocolate now and it's all I could think of.
